June 2011 I discovered black goo dripping from my rear view mirror. How bizarre? The temperature had been in the 90's, but that is not new. It is a 2000 Acura TL and spent the last 10 years here. It also was discolored in odd pattern behind the mirror. Looked like blobs. It had dripped onto the console, but I manage to get it off. The mirror appeared to have blown a seal and with enough force to break it loose at the ball/stem where it rotates for adjustment. It was attached but it no longer stayed in place after adjustment. It just pointed toward the floorboard after minor vibration when driven. The next day There were deep pits in the plastic console piece around the shifter where goo had dripped. Windshield developed a small crack that radiated from area where the interior rear view

Can this still be replaced at the dealer?

The Safety restraint system (SRS) light has been on for two years and the side airbag light has been on for 5 years, Today is Dec. 4,2010,

Can I still have it repaired?

Do you drive a 2000 ACURA TL?

Just because a car has been recalled does not mean it is not a reliable car. Millions of cars get recalled every year. Recalls often involve problems that are rare but could cause a serious problem if they occur. So the risk to any given driver is often remote, even though there may be a few high-profile incidents traced to the problem.
