I bought my Equinox in 05 brand new. I love it! I have had NO problems to speak of and keep up the maint. Now that the vehicle is 8 years old, I noticed last summer that the air conditioner is not cooling as well as before. I had it checked and they found nothing. When I am moving it seems to cool well but when stopped it does not cool at all. Some the AC has been my only complaint..I now have over 150,000 miles.

I bought my 05 equinox in 05, and immediately started having problems with it... I hate this car, and don't feel safe in it at all... I read all the problems that other people have with theirs, and know people personally that have problems with theirs, and all the complaints are the same which makes me wonder why there hasn't been a recall on this heap of junk!!! My problems are the same as everyone else's.... Electrical seems to be the biggest... My cruiser control has a mind of it's own and works sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't.... I have replaced the brakes too many times to count... I an always changing all the lights... All... The front windows don't roll down anymore... It leaks water, and stays wet and damp inside... The air conditioner doesn't cool, and I've had it checked out, and there are no leaks and it doesn't need to be charged.... The fuel pump is faulty... Every single time I fuel up, it takes about four tries to get it to start..

2005 Chevy Equinox has alot of safety issues starting with the cooling system, my air was out when I first bought the truck, had it replaced only to go back out again. The gas mileage is horrible. I have all types of noises I hear that sound like it's misfiring. Then I was driving home recently & I was trying to stop at my turn only to discover that the brakes aren't working, then the abs & traction light popped on. I could have had an accident. I was terrified. I took it the dealership & they said that my hub bearing need to be replaced & the harness to be replaced also. I need answers as to why this happened without any warning because I don't feel I damage a car like this since I've only had it for a 1 year & 8 mos with the mileage at 62567. I bought it used at 53010 miles.

Its a night mare! I have so many problems related to my electrical system. 1. The stereo system had to be replaced and is now out again. 2. My wheel sensors are out. I replaced one and 3 weeks later the other went out! 3. My head lamps keep blowing 4. I have to leave the key in my ignition because it wont turn if I take it out. 5. The dealership stated my thermostat keeps the truck too cool. 6. My truck will crank 19 out of 20 times without being jumped but, the battery is good.
I dont know what to do Im full time college, full time work and Im doing good to pay the payment and insurace. The truck is unsafe especially because my wheel sensors are out it makes it feel like my brakes are not working but, I have no choice but, to drive it! To top things off my air went out in the middle of the summer! The truck has under 85,000 miles on it and I have taken excellent care of it except for the fact I cant fix all its issues
