Have a 2013 Charger. The vehicle started smoking under the hood at a busy intersection in December. I coasted to a service station. Fixed the alternator and battery was shot. Received the recall notice, took the vehicle to the dealership and was told could not get a part until April and they would put a OEM alternator on until the part came in. NOT the part to fix the problem but to enable me to drive my vehicle. The occurance can happen again because the part is not the "fix".
I am forced to drive an unsafe vehicle because they will not provide a rental until the part comes in.

Have a 2013 Dodge Charger under 700 miles
So far been a great car, but received the
P60 recall on the 160 amp alternator, and now afraid to drive the car.Afraid it may stall in middle of nowhere or heavy traffic.
Called Chrysler hotline, stillno fix for the issue. Never heard of a recall with nofix!
Think maybe a class action lawsuit may be in order.

Update 03/11/2014: So I finally contacted the “Chrysler Customer Service" number and was advised that they were aware of the problem and would be forwarding my complaint to "The Back Order Parts Division". What the heck is that??? I had to return the rental that was covered in my warranty because it only provides for 5-days of coverage. (Yes, you have a minimum of 5 days coverage even when parts are back ordered three weeks. I didn't know Detroit was that far away). The Customer service person then told me that the Service Manager would be calling me. Five days later, I still have not heard from the Service manager. I did however, get a call from Chrysler advising me to call the Service department. Why should I have to do that? I'm the customer. They should be servicing me. So as of this date I have owned the car for four weeks, driven it for three days, and it's been in the shop ever since with no estimated time of repair and no compensation for my time lost
