Starter selenoid on right fender keeps burning up.. Also if the truck has ran and gets warm it burns up.. I've gone through 6 of them

I have a 1989 Ford F150 XLT LARIAT, but I have put I think it's a 87 Crown Victoria Transmission in it. I can't seem to get the gear linkage right, or the transmission on change out of 1st gear.

I bought a used '89 F-150 6 cyl manual. I found it had a battery drain. No blown fuses. Relays seem OK. Battery holds a charge. Repaired a burned wire coming from starter solenoid/relay. Three weeks of this and it's still not right. Of course the reserve gas tank is useless to. Avoid this nightmare if you can.
