We purchased a 2005 Ford Freestyle new in December of 2005. Starting at around 29,000 we began having intermitent surg problems. Took it to the dealer but they could not diagnose. Stopped for a while then returned, and has been intermitent since then. Ford could never figure out what it was. Now at 58,000 we are really having problems. Surging, stalling, fail safe mode. We are teaching our son to drive this car and it is dangerous. I have googled this and many freestyle owners have had the same problem. It is a problem with the throtle body and Ford knows its a problem. It is dangerous, why not just do a recall?
like the car but frustrated with this problem.
