Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2020 Niro EV vehicles. The Electric Power Control Unit (EPCU) may have been improperly sealed and may leak coolant internally.

| Description |
Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2020 Niro EV vehicles. The Electric Power Control Unit (EPCU) may have been improperly sealed and may leak coolant internally. |
| Consequences |
Coolant contacting the EPCU circuit board may cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. |
| Corrective action |
Dealers will inspect and replace the EPCU as necessary, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed January 31, 2023. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC258. |
