IF THE TRUNK LID IS MANUALLY LIFTED, IT MAY NOT REMAIN IN THE UP POSITION AND COULD CAUSE INJURY IF IT COMES DOWN WHILE SOMEONE IS REACHING INTO THE TRUNK. |
| Corrective action |
DEALERS WILL REPLACE BOTH TRUNK LID SPRINGS. THE RECALL BEGAN AUGUST 17, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT MERCEDES- BENZ AT 1-800-367-6372. |

I absolutely love the car but I have ran into a few issues. Number one the trunk spring issue which I had come down on my hand causing severe swelling. These trunks are extremely heavy! Also last night driving home my dash lights went out so I start researching which leds me to the recalls for the cl600. I contacted the dealer and they refuse to do the recalls because they are out of date. Is there anything i can do to have these safety issues addressed without a four thousand dollar bill?
