Description REAR AXLE MUST BE RERATED FROM ITS PRESENT 21,200 LBS. GAWR TO 20,000 LBS. AS THE MAXIMUM LOAD CARRYING CAPACITY OF THE AXLE TO COMPLY WITH FMVSS 121.
Consequences TRUCKS DO NOT COMPLY WITH STANDARD.
Corrective action RERATE REAR AXLE TO 20,000 GAWR.
Notes SYSTEM: REAR AXLE/FMVSS 121.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH TYPE 14 BRAKE CHAMBERS ONTHE REAR AXLE.
