Same problem with my 2005 Grand Marquis with the headlights. They shut off and come back on after a few minutes. Seems like a safety issue.

I have a 2005 mercury grand marquis and the headlights will not work at all at night i have contacted dealears to ask if its a recall they said no but the repais where 500.00 to 600.00 to fix problem i think this is a safety hazard u need your lights at night period
5/14/2010 - Scott Birchall
THIS IS ON MY 2005 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS GS. THE LIGHT CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND MY HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR 5 TO 10 MINUTES. THEY CONTINUE TO DO THIS UNTIL THE SYSTEM WOULD COOL DOWN AND RESET ITSELF, TAKING 15 TO 30 SECONDS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD I NEED TO HAVE THE LCM REPLACED COSTING OVER $500.00 FOR JUST THE PART. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT WHEN HE CALLED THE DEALER THEY STATED THAT THEY ALWAYS KEEP THEM IN STOCK BECAUSE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. MY QUESTION IS WHY IS THIS NOT A RECALL ITEM??? THE HEADLIGHTS GOING OUT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT NIGHT MUST BE A SAFETY ISSUE?
