RECALL FOR SEAT BELTS : FRONT : RETRACTOR
SOME SPORT SEDANS WERE BUILT WITH SEAT BELT RETRACTORS THAT WERE DAMAGED DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. IF DAMAGED, OVER TIME, THE AUTOMATIC TENSIONING SYSTEM (ATS) CABLE IN THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR COULD BREAK CAUSING THE BELT WEBBING TO NOT RETRACT.

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR ASSEMBLIES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 24, 2005. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT SAAB AT 1-800-955-9007. |

I think if they have a recall on a part of your vehicle it doesn't matter what year you should still be able to take it in and get it fixed. Even if the recall was in 2007. If the car is a 2003 Saab there is a recall in 2007 and now that part is messing up I think you should still be able to take it in and get that part fixed as a recall.

I purchased a used Saab back in 2007. It is a 2003 Saab 9-3 SE, 4cyl 2.0 turbo. It had 36,000 miles on it when I bought it which was pretty good for 4 years. Anyway, I love my car, it drives great, it's fast, looks nice and is just an overall great car.
Last year, however, the alternate went bad and I had to take it to a mechanic who specialized in foreign automobiles. He kept it for 3 weeks, but the point is this. After that problem I have had nothing but problems. My engine light is on this very day, still. My OBDII scanner brings up the sale codes. I replace sensor after sensor, part after part, the performance has declined greatly and the interior and exterior are falling apart in certain areas. Things that shouldn't break are breaking and quite frankly I do not have the money to pour onto this thing.
It will cost thousands just to take it to the dealer to tell me what I already know. I honestly do not think they can fix it based on what

Saabs are by far the crappiest vehicles ever made. Their electrical systems are constantly breaking down and are nothing but a complete scam to keep owners going back to the dealership so they can be charged exorbitant amounts of money to repair complicated garbage that only the dealership can identify. I will never, and I mean NEVER buy another one of these pieces of garbage. They should be ashamed of themselves for claiming that the engineering is based on jets. What kind of jets? Ones that will fall out of the sky??? DO NOT BUY A SAAB!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!
