RECALL FOR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM : INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2015 Western Star 4700, 4800 and 4900 trucks manufactured November 15, 2014, to January 30, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the speedometer may not operate properly, possibly not displaying the vehicle's speed.

Vehicle 2015 WESTERN STAR 4900 Manufacturer Daimler Trucks North America LLC Manufactured between 11/15/2014 - 1/30/2015 Recalled on 6/17/2015 Influenced by Daimler Trucks North America LLC Owners Notified on 7/28/2015 # Affected 21 Recalled for ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL Description Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2015 Western Star 4700, 4800 and 4900 trucks manufactured November 15, 2014, to January 30, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the speedometer may not operate properly, possibly not displaying the vehicle's speed. Consequences If the speedometer does not show the vehicle speed, the driver may unknowingly exceed the posted speed limit, increasing the risk of a crash. Corrective action DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will install a new speedometer, free of charge. The recall began on July 28, 2015. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-745-8000.
