2021 WESTERN STAR 4900 RECALL - #21V946000
RECALL FOR STEERING : GEAR BOX : SHAFT SECTOR
Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Western Star 4900 vehicles. The steering shaft pinch bolt may not have been properly tightened, allowing the steering shaft to separate from the steering gear.

| Description |
Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Western Star 4900 vehicles. The steering shaft pinch bolt may not have been properly tightened, allowing the steering shaft to separate from the steering gear. |
| Consequences |
Steering shaft separation may cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash. |
| Corrective action |
Dealers will inspect and replace the pinch bolt as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 28, 2022. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-914. |
