Problem: BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling one 2022 745e hybrid electric vehicle. The high voltage battery may have been produced with a battery cell electrode that was improperly sized during the laser cutting process, which may result in an electrical short-circuit. A software error in the electronic control unit (ECU) may disable the audible warning signal for an unbelted driver to fasten their seat belt.
