Description |
ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, VIBRATION AND HEAT MAY CAUSE THE TAIL LAMP/STOP LAMP BULB TO LOOSEN IN ITS SOCKET. IF THIS OCCURS, THE BULB MAY FLICKER AND EVENTUALLY BECOME INOPERATIVE. |
Consequences |
AN INOPERATIVE BRAKE LAMP WILL NOT CONVEY THE DRIVER'S INTENTION OF STOPPING TO DRIVERS IN FOLLOWING VEHICLES, AND AN INOPERATIVE REAR TURN SIGNAL LAMP WILL NOT CONVEY THE DRIVER'S INTENTION TO TURN TO DRIVERS IN FOLLOWING VEHICLES. BOTH OF THESE FAILURES CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH. |

'04 Trailblazer LS EXT - worked fine for five and a half yrs. Enjoyed driving my fully paid vehicle and then ... the problems started! No issues while under warranty but now everything goes wrong, ignition, battery, dashboard lights, tachometer, tailgate lights, tailgate lock! Will start yo some days and work without any problems; others days won't bother to start. I swear this car is possessed! Taken it to the shop three times and they can't find the problem. Don't want to really get into another 5,6 years of car payments.

I also have enjoyed my 2004 Trailblazer but first noticed some of the dash lights go on and off. They are never working all at the same time. Then my speedometer started working crazy. If I keep turning the truck off and on it does reset but only for about 20 miles then it goes to 120 and stops. I'm glad I own a GPS because I use that to see how fast I am going. Then the heat/ac would only work on 5. My son and I just replaced the blower motor resistor and it is now working fine. Thankfully you can now buy the repair model because it is a lot cheaper to fix it yourself.

I have enjoyed my 04 Trailblazer LS EXT since the day i purchased it brand new. But recently the electrical system has been giving me fits. From various dashboard lights going out to my AC fan motor, then the modulator. Now, my gauges in the gauge cluster are starting to malfuntion. My oil gauge would mess up every now and then, but now it remains pegged to the max. Then it was my tachometor, begginning to read all over the board, but now it pretty much remains pegged to the max. Now my speedometor is starting to read incorrectly, i have a GPS unit that I keep the MPH reading on so that I know my correct speed. This has been a real pain in the backside and getting to the point where I'm not sure just exactly how my SUV is operating.........
