Description |
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2009 Dodge Durango and Chrysler Aspen vehicles manufactured January 17, 2007, to December 18, 2008, and 2010 RAM 3500 cab chassis manufactured September 25, 2009, to February 1, 2010. The affected vehicles are equipped with a dual-stage driver frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture. |
Consequences |
In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death. |
Corrective action |
Chrysler has notified owners, and dealers will replace the driver's frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began January 11, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S92. Note: This recall covers vehicles that were accidentally excluded from recall 15V-313. |

Why are there no oveheating issues listed? I hae a 1999 Durango that I love and it overheats and stalls at various times. There are hundreds of complaints online. This is a VERY DANGEROUS situation for us owners. There have been times vehicles have stopped on the highway go 50-70 MPH and have been in near accidents. There have been times vehicles have stopped in intersections with much traffic. You are putting us and our families in danger while driving or being on the road with someone who has this vehicle. We cannot afford to keep fixing a problem that still continues. We cannot in good conscience sell to someone else and we cannot afford to buy another vehicle. I have 2 kids, 1 who will be driving very soon. I will not send my children out in this death trap. I am seriously looking for an attorney to start a class action suit against your company. I am sure I will find many others who will come on board. It won't be hard to find them. The government has bailed your company out.
