ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT A WIRE BREAKING INSIDE THE ALTERNATOR COULD STOP THE BATTERY FROM CHARGING. |
| Consequences |
IF THIS HAPPENS, THE CHARGER WARNING AND BRAKE WARNING LAMPS WILL IMMEDIATELY COME ON AND THE BATTERY WILL BEGIN TO DISCHARGE. AFTER A SHORT TIME, THE ENGINE WILL GO INTO A "FALL SAFE" CONDITION WHICH WILL LIMIT VEHICLE SPEED. THE ENGINE WILL STOP RUNNING WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH. |

DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR WITH A NEW VERSION WHICH HAS BEEN MODIFIED TO PREVENT MOVEMENT OF THE COIL. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 1, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261. |

I have a 2005 nissan murano and the battery lite and brake lite came on.and we changed battery and its still on and theres time u can push the gass and its like the gass petal isnt hooked up it wont rib up or go.

Just because my car doesn't fall under the recall item number it still had the problem with the electrical system. I think this should qualify it for the same consideration as the recall models as the problem was just as serious if not more since we did not even know this problem exsisted making it more dangerous when out-of-the-blue the car started this hurkey jerky motion eventually stopping in mid-traffic a possible life- threatening situation. Nissan's response has been totally unacceptable leading me to believe they don't care about repeat customers.

i have murano it can not speed up to 70km when i m driving till i off the engine befor it can go to 70km now more than that
