absolutely love my 2001 xc70, when she is totally engaged on the highway over 60 mph. but she putters in stop and go traffic. putter meaning erratic idle rpms at stops and an occasional 'hic'up' or hesitation when accelerating. geartronic? not well educated on but i will always flip into the manual mode in the icky 'stop and go bottleneck traffic patterns).
she is now 96,500 miles old. never had a transmission flush, drain, fill. throttle body cleaned at 96,000 miles. new spark plugs-76,000 miles. up to date on maintenance. now what?

Do you drive a 2001 VOLVO XC70?

Just because a car has been recalled does not mean it is not a reliable car. Millions of cars get recalled every year. Recalls often involve problems that are rare but could cause a serious problem if they occur. So the risk to any given driver is often remote, even though there may be a few high-profile incidents traced to the problem.
