RECALL FOR VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, A COMBINATION OF THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR IRREGULARITIES, A DIRTY THROTTLE HOUSING, AND/OR INEFFICIENT SOFTWARE CALIBRATION MAY CAUSE A WARNING LAMP TO LIGHT AND THE SUBSEQUENT ONSET OF LIMP HOME MODES.

Description ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, A COMBINATION OF THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR IRREGULARITIES, A DIRTY THROTTLE HOUSING, AND/OR INEFFICIENT SOFTWARE CALIBRATION MAY CAUSE A WARNING LAMP TO LIGHT AND THE SUBSEQUENT ONSET OF LIMP HOME MODES.
Consequences THIS RESULTED IN A HIGH NUMBER OF VEHICLES GOING INTO THE LIMP HOME MODE WITHOUT NEED.
Corrective action DEALERS WILL INSTALL THE CURRENT SOFTWARE UPGRADE ONTO THE INVOLVED VEHICLES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 29, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT VOLVO AT 1-800-458-1552.

absolutely love my 2001 xc70, when she is totally engaged on the highway over 60 mph. but she putters in stop and go traffic. putter meaning erratic idle rpms at stops and an occasional 'hic'up' or hesitation when accelerating. geartronic? not well educated on but i will always flip into the manual mode in the icky 'stop and go bottleneck traffic patterns).
she is now 96,500 miles old. never had a transmission flush,drain, fill. throttle body cleaned at 96,000 miles. new spark plugs-76,000 miles. up to date on maintenance. now what?
