2015 ALTEC AERIAL DEVICE RECALL - #20V502000

RECALL FOR ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING : EXHAUST SYSTEM : EMISSION CONTROL

Altec Industries Inc. is recalling certain 2015-2018 LR7, ALB, AC18, AC23, and AC38 vehicles built on an International N9/N10 chassis. During an HC Desorb cycle, the vehicle's idle will rapidly rise causing an increase in pump flow. The increased pump flow can result in the moving speed of the boom changing.

Owners Notified on 10/16/2020 # Affected 17 Recalled for ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL Description Altec Industries Inc. is recalling certain 2015-2018 LR7, ALB, AC18, AC23, and AC38 vehicles built on an International N9/N10 chassis. During an HC Desorb cycle, the vehicle's idle will rapidly rise causing an increase in pump flow. The increased pump flow can result in the moving speed of the boom changing. Consequences The change in boom speed can result in unintended positioning of the boom, increasing the risk of injury. Corrective action Altec will notify owners, and dealers install an update that will reprogram the low idle preset to 850 RPM, free of charge. The recall began October 16, 2020.
