Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain Battery Energy Control Modules (BECM) with part numbers PZ98-10B687-K* and PZ98-14C197-K*. The battery energy control module software may cause an incorrect state of charge to display in the vehicle or lead to the BECM overheating.
The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 83 units affected.

- Description:
- Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain Battery Energy Control Modules (BECM) with part numbers PZ98-10B687-K* and PZ98-14C197-K*. The battery energy control module software may cause an incorrect state of charge to display in the vehicle or lead to the BECM overheating.
- Consequeces:
- An inaccurate state-of-charge reading can lead to an unexpected loss of drive power, increasing the risk of crash. Additionally, an overheating BECM increases the risk of a fire.
- Corrective action:
- Dealers will update the BECM software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 8, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S70.
