Michelin Tire is recalling certain Latitude Tour P255/70 R18 (DOT TIN B9YU99CX and DOT date range 1313 through 2113) and P255/60 R19 108 S (DOT TIN B9R1W3WX and DOT date range 1913 through 2113), X Radial LT2 P265/65 R18 112 T (DOT TIN B9KA003X and DOT date range 0513 through 2113) and P275/55 R20 111 T (DOT TIN B99Y001X and DOT date range 0513 through 2113), LTX M/S2 RBL P275/55 R20 111 T (DOT TIN B99Y56EX and DOT date range 3812 through 2113), LTX M/S2 ORWL P265/60 R18 109 T (DOT TIN B95E788X and DOT date range 1513 through 2113), and LTX M/S2 tires P265/65 R18 112 T (DOT TIN B9XP001X and DOT date range 0513 through 2113). Due to a perforation in the sidewall, the tires may lose pressure while driving.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 100,000 units affected.

Due to a perforation in the sidewall, the tires may lose pressure while driving.
Consequeces:: A loss of tire air pressure may lead to sudden tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Michelin will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace any affected tires free of charge. The recall began on July 22, 2013. Owners may contact Michelin Consumer Care at 1-855-851-4951.

MICHELIN LATITUDE TOUR HP Complaints
On September 18, 2025, while driving at ~65–70 mph on the Saw Mill Parkway in Mount Kisco, NY, a Michelin Latitude Tour HP tire (235/55R19) suffered a sudden circumferential tread/belt separation. The tread detached completely from the casing while the sidewall remained intact. A small screw was present in the center tread, but there was no TPMS warning or gradual pressure loss prior to the failure. This behavior is inconsistent with ordinary puncture damage and indicates a potential workmanship/materials defect. The separated tread, tire carcass, and wheel are preserved and available for inspection. The tires were installed by the dealer (Audi New Rochelle) on June 12, 2024, as part of Certified Pre-Owned reconditioning before sale. This catastrophic failure posed an immediate risk of serious crash. Tire Size: 235/55R19;
MICHELIN LTX M/S2 Complaints
The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe equipped with Michelin Tires, Tire Line: M Plus S, Tire Size: P265/65/R18, DOT Number: M3KA007X0820. The contact stated that the rear passenger’s side tire was continuously losing air. While the vehicle was in for routine service, the tire was examined by the mechanic who discovered the cause of the failure was due to multiple pin holes in the tire. The contact was informed that the tire was unrepairable and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000.;
MICHELIN LTX M/S2 ORWL Complaints
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee equipped with Michelin Tires, Tire Line: LTX M/S2, Tire Size: P265/60/R18, DOT Number: 1AP5E0TEX0722. The contact stated that the TPMS warning light illuminated showing that all the tire pressure was low and needed to be inflated to the correct air pressure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and inflated; however, no failure was found with the tires. The failure persisted. The manufacturer was contacted and notified of the failure. The contact was advised that the tires needed to be inspected. The failure mileage was 6,000.;
MICHELIN X RADIAL LT2 Complaints
I CURRENTLY HAVE A 2006 KIA SEDONA THAT HAS MICHELIN TIRES ON IT. I PURCHASED THE TIRES ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2011. I HAD 76540 MILES ON THE VAN AT THAT TIME. TODAY I HAVE 100,955 MILES ON THE VAN, THAT IS A LITTLE OVER 24000 MILES ON THESE TIRES. I WAS HAVING THE VEHICLE INSPECTED PRIOR TO A VACATION WITH MY DAUGHTER. I WAS TOLD THAT ALL 4 TIRES HAVE TERRIBLE DRY-ROT. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING AND DANGEROUS AND I AM ALERTING YOU TO THIS PROBLEM. THESE TIRES SHOULD HAVE MANY MORE YEARS OF LIFE IN THEM AND DO NOT HAVE VERY MANY MILES ON THEM. I WOULD APPRECIATE MICHELIN REPLACING THESE TIRES .. THESE TIRES HAVE A 70,000 MILE WARRANTY ON THEM HOWEVER THEY ARE NOW 6 YEARS OLD, AND JUST PAST THE MICHELIN WARRANTY DATE. I WAS TOLD BY NTB MANAGER THAT MICHELIN HAVE A TENDENCY TO DRY-ROT/ CRACK AND HE EVEN HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ONES ON HIS CAR. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. NEW TIRES WILL COST OVER $800 ON THIS VEHICLE. ALTHOUGH I WOULD AGREE TO PICK UP SOME OF THAT COST SINCE I HAVE USED THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER THERE SHOULD BE AT LEAST 70% LEFT ON THE LIFE OF THESE TIRES. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING ON THEM AS IS BECAUSE THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE OF A BLOW OUT AND SINCE IT IS HAPPENING ON ALL 4 TIRES THAT COULD BE DISASTROUS. I HOPE THAT MICHELIN AGREES THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THESE TIRES AND THAT THEY STAND BY THEIR BELIEF IN PROVIDING A GOOD PRODUCT, FREE FROM DEFECTS. THANKS;
