Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. (Cooper Tire) is recalling certain size 235/65R18 Cooper Discoverer SRX, Evolution H/T, Discoverer HTP, Adventurer H/T CUV, Big O Big Foot A/S, Les Schwab Back Country QS3 Touring HT, and Mastercraft Courser HSX Tour tires. The tires may have been improperly manufactured with a ply cord distortion. The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 24,459 units affected.

Description:: Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. (Cooper Tire) is recalling certain size 235/65R18 Cooper Discoverer SRX, Evolution H/T, Discoverer HTP, Adventurer H/T CUV, Big O Big Foot A/S, Les Schwab Back Country QS3 Touring HT, and Mastercraft Courser HSX Tour tires. The tires may have been improperly manufactured with a ply cord distortion. Consequeces:: The distortion may cause parting of the lower sidewall compounds extending to the cord material, increasing the risk of tire failure and a crash.
Corrective action:: Cooper Tire has notified owners, and dealers will replace the tires, free of charge. The recall began June 14, 2019. Owners may contact Cooper Tire customer service at 1-800-854-6288. Cooper Tire's number for this recall is 172.

COOPER ADVENTURER H/T CUV Complaints
I purchased 4 Cooper Adventurer 265/70R16 tires in 3-2022 from Pep Boys in Mobile, AL. I had a ASE Certified mechanic checked these tires and found there was a bulge on the tread of the passenger front & tread separation on the driver's rear tire. The tires have approx. 17K miles since purchase. Pep Boys refused to replace the 2 tires unless I paid a pro-rated fee which I refused due to the 2 defects out of 4 tires & the limited amount of miles on the tires. Also, I have rotated the tires 4 times since purchased. The mechanic that found the problems checked the shocks & struts and found no issues other that the 2 tires.;
COOPER DISCOVER SRX Complaints
Tire size 285/45r22 got into freeway this morning and the outer sidewall just separated on the lr tire no warning, tires looked good 7/32 tread left even wear and tire pressure was correct. The other tires look good on the outside but so did the one that came apart the car has tpms and the tires were never run low or had any repairs. The outside tread block at the sidewall peeled off the tire;
COOPER DISCOVERER HTP Complaints
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EQUIPPED WITH COOPER DISCOVERER HTP TIRES, SIZE: P275/45R20 (NA). WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT BEGAN TO FEEL THE VEHICLE SHAKE AND WOBBLE. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE SIDEWALL. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIRE WAS ABNORMAL AND APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN A DEFECT. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE PLACE WHERE THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. *TR CONSUMER STATED I FILED A SAFETY COMPLAINT FOR MY COOPER DISCOVERER H/T+ TIRES TODAY, 7/31/2019.*JB;
COOPER EVOLUTION H/T Complaints
265/50R20 Cooper Evolution H/T, all 4 tires have cracks all the way around each tire, possibly sidewall defects. Tires were purchased new from Bob’s tire in Attalla, Alabama.;
