General Motors is recalling certain model year 2005-2007 SAAB 9-7x; 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT

General Motors (GM) is recalling certain model year 2005-2007 SAAB 9-7x; 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL; and 2006-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier and Isuzu Ascender vehicles. Fluid may enter the driver's door module, causing corrosion that could result in a short in the circuit board. A short may cause the power door lock and power window switches to function intermittently or become inoperative. The short may also cause overheating, which could melt components of the door module, producing odor, smoke, or a fire.

The recall was influenced by the Office of Defects Investigation with about 193,652 units affected.

Description:: General Motors (GM) is recalling certain model year 2005-2007 SAAB 9-7x; 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL; and 2006-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier and Isuzu Ascender vehicles. Fluid may enter the driver's door module, causing corrosion that could result in a short in the circuit board. A short may cause the power door lock and power window switches to function intermittently or become inoperative. The short may also cause overheating, which could melt components of the door module, producing odor, smoke, or a fire.
Consequeces:: A short in the circuit board could lead to a fire, increasing the risk of personal injury. A fire could occur even while the vehicle is not in use. As a precaution, owners are advised to park outside until the remedy has been made.
Corrective action:: Owners will be contacted and dealers will test the driver's door module. If the module is functioning properly, a protective coating will be applied. If the module is not functioning properly, it will be replaced. These repairs will be done free of charge. GM will notify Buick, Chevrolet, and GMC owners, Isuzu and Saab will contact their respective owners. The recall began on August 2, 2013. Buick owners may contact the owner center at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet owners at 1-866-694-6546, GMC owners at 1-866-996-9463, Isuzu owners at 1-800-255-6727, and Saab owners at 1-800-955-9007. GM's campaign number is 12180. This recall is an expansion of recall 12V-406.

2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT Complaints
ON AUGUST 18, 2017, I LEASED-TO-OWN A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER FROM ACTION AUTO OF TUPELO, MS. AROUND THE FIRST WEEK OF OCTOBER OF 2018, I HAD LEND SAID VEHICLE TO MY SISTER. SHE CONTACTED ME SAYING THAT THE ENGINE WAS MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE, AND BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK TO ME, WHERE I INSPECTED IT WHILE IT WAS STATIONARY. TO RULE OUT EVERYTHING ELSE BEFORE I ACKNOWLEDGED THE SOUND OF THE KNOCK BEING A SEVERE MECHANICAL FAILURE OF THE ENGINE, I CONNECTED A DIAGNOSTIC SCANNER TO THE CAN DATA CONNECTOR ON THE 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. IN SECONDS THE SCREEN ON THE SCANNER WAS FLOODED WITH FAULTS, BUT THEN THE SCANNER STARTED BEEPING, SAYING THAT THE SRS (SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM) HAD BEEN ACTIVATED. LOOKING AROUND THE VEHICLE I DIDN'T SEE ANY SIGN OF ANY AIRBAG BEING DEPLOYED, OR ANY SEATBELT MISSING. IT WASN'T UNTIL I CHECKED THE CONNECTORS COMING OUT OF THE AIRBAG MODULE THAT I SAW FOR THE FIRST TIME THAT THE AIRBAGS WERE MISSING. I INFORMED MY INSURANCE PROVIDER REGARDING THE ISSUE, WHICH THEY ASSUMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN A CURRENT ACCIDENT. IN WHICH IT WAS NOT. AFTER FURTHER EXPLANATION, THEY CANCELLED THE INSURANCE AS AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT ARE ONE OF THE CRITICAL KEY FACTORS THAT INSURANCE PROVIDERS USE TO DETERMINE WHETHER A VECHICLE IS TOTALED OR NOT. I CONTACTED ACTION AUTO OF OXFORD, MS, THEIR MAIN BRANCH I PRESUME, AND INFORMED THEM OF THE PROBLEM AND TO COME AND RETRIEVE THE VEHICLE AS DRIVING IT WITHOUT INSURANCE IS A VIOLATION OF MISSISSIPPI'S STATE'S LAW, AND THE ENGINE HAD EXPERIENCED SEVERE MECHANICAL FAILURE WHICH MADE IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. ACTION AUTO RETRIEVED THE VEHICLE, BUT STATED THAT I HAD BROKE PROMISES IN OUR AGREEMENT, AND THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD BE AUCTIONED OFF THIS YEAR, IN WHICH THEY DID. FEDERAL LAW REQUIRES ALL VEHICLES MADE AFTER 1997 ARE EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS AND TITLE 49 30112 FORBIDS THE SELL OF A NON-CONFORMING VEHICLE.;
2006 GMC ENVOY XL Complaints
ON HIGHWAY US-31 IN MUSKEGON COUNTY MICHIGAN, VEHICLE (ENVOY) WAS AT ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP FOR A VEHICLE STOPPED AHEAD WHEN STRUCK FROM BEHIND BY ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELLING AT 70+ MPH. THE ENVOY WAS THEN PUSHED INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF THE ENVOY. THE ENVOY SUFFERED MAJOR REAR END DAMAGE AND SEVERE FRONT END DAMAGE. NONE OF THE FRONT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. BOTH FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATBELTS DID NOT RESTRAIN. THE SEATBELTS STRETCHED OUT TO THEIR LIMIT. BOTH FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT AND PASSENGER SEAT TWISTED INWARDS TOWARD THE CONSOLE. SEVERE BODILY INJURIES OCCURRED. ON 08/23/2018, GMC WAS MADE AWARE OF THIS. A CASE WAS OPENED. THE EVENT DATA RECORDER WAS RECOVERED BY GMC. THE EDR SHOWED THE IMPACT VELOCITY, NON-DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS AND NON-RESTRAINT OF SEATBELTS. GMC THEN CLOSED THE CASE STATING THAT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY, THERE WOULD BE NO FURTHER INVESTIGATION OR COMPENSATION. THE 2006 GMC ENVOY WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY THE AUTO INSURER.;
2007 BUICK RAINIER Complaints
Window motors and window controls failing. I replaced two window motors at in 2017, at dealer because they failed, then the rear passenger window motor failed in 2020 and was replaced at mechanic shop with factory replacement, this rear passenger window is seldom used, but rear passenger window motor failed again in 2023 and was replaced again at mechanic shop. Drivers window motor now needs to be replaced. Window controls are intermittant. The components were replaced by dealer and by third-party mechanic. There is no warning prior to failure other than rolling down a window and not being able to get it back up at all, which poses a hazard in torrential rain and damages vehicle; or not being able to roll a window down when needed. The first replacement was under warranty. The rest have been out of pocket and have caused other damage due to rain. I feel the entire window operating system should have been recalled, driver side controls and all of the operting motors. This is a dangerous and expensive continuing problem. Never had this problem with any GM vehicle before the 2007 Rainer. Rear air suspension went out in 2018 and rear end fell down causing severe handling difficulty. Had to replace rear air suspension with conventional shocks because parts were not available in a timely manner and vehicle could not be driven safely without rear suspension. Had similar issue with air suspension on 2004 Buick SUV, where the air suspension went haywire and caused handling issues. (Vehicle was returned to dealer and exchanged for one with a conventional suspension.) Was told by dealer the air suspension problem was fixed on later models after 2004, but apparently not. Would not have purchased a vehicle with air suspension had I known it still had these issues.;
2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER Complaints
Low tire presher lights stay on even when the tire presher is ok. Also I want to say the anti sliding feature says it is not working as well. I could be wrong about this feature but there si a button on the gear shift that controls this option. The button will not turn it on and off.;
2007 GMC ENVOY Complaints
I purchased a 2007 GMC Envoy from Premier Auto Sales in [XXX] in XXX. I put down $1,250 and I pay $500 a month, $250 bi-weekly. I owe $4767 left on the vehicle in total. A month or two after I bought the vehicle, my car started driving rough and not being able to handle small bumps without rocking violently. I took the vehicle to Jay's Auto Repair in [XXX] where the owner [XXX] placed the vehicle on a rack and lifted it up to identify the issue. Both rear control arms rusted off of the frame and had completely unattached. While handling this, [XXX] called me over to come look at the undercarriage of the vehicle to advise me that the vehicle's frame is completely rusted out, and is not safe for my [XXX] [XXX], or myself to be driving or riding in. [XXX] then advised me to contact the dealership to at least see if they'd be willing to trade the vehicle in, so I could be paying $500 a month for a drivable, reliable and safe vehicle for my family and I. The dealership gave me 4 or 5 options on just as mechanically unsound vehicles with extremely high mileage, but I'd still have to pay a rollover on my current rusted out frame vehicle because he'd only give me $2500 for it in credit to another vehicle. Once I expressed interest in a Dodge Journey Crossroad they had, the dealership owner [XXX] advised I'd have to put more money down to get a car that good, and reliable if I wanted to trade mine in due to the unsafe frame.
