Ducati North America (Ducati) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 1199 Panigale and Panigale S motorcycles. The left handlebar switch may not get power from its connection at the dashboard, preventing the horn, instrument panel display, high beam and right turn signals from functioning. As such, these motorcycles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 123, "Motorcycle Controls and Displays."
The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 2,083 units affected.

- Ducati North America (Ducati) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 1199 Panigale and Panigale S motorcycles. The left handlebar switch may not get power from its connection at the dashboard, preventing the horn, instrument panel display, high beam and right turn signals from functioning. - Consequeces:
- The rider's inability to use the horn, right turn indicators and high beam could increase the risk of a crash.
- Corrective action:
- Ducati will notify owners, and dealers will install an additional wiring harness, free of charge. The recall began on June 6, 2014. Owners may contact Ducati at 1-800-231-6696. Ducati's number for this recall is RCL-14-001.
