Thor Motor Coach (Thor) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Axis and Vegas motorhomes manufactured August 2, 2013, to June 18, 2014. Due to the use of an incorrect adhesive, the treads on the entry stairs into the vehicle may come loose.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 455 units affected.

Description:: Thor Motor Coach (Thor) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Axis and Vegas motorhomes manufactured August 2, 2013, to June 18, 2014. Due to the use of an incorrect adhesive, the treads on the entry stairs into the vehicle may come loose.
Consequeces:: Loose stair treads can result in a person slipping and falling, increasing the risk of injury.
Corrective action:: Thor will notify owners, and dealers will reinstall the stair treads with the correct adhesive and additional screws, free of charge. The recall began in August 2014. Owners may contact Thor customer service at 1-877-500-1020. Thor's number for this recall is RC000090.

2015 THOR MOTOR COACH AXIS Complaints
DOOR CLOSED LATCHED, WHEN TRYING TO OPEN IT WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. HAD TO CALL SOMEONE TO LET ME OUT. DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES THE PAST WEEK WHILE CAMPING. WHEN STOPPED IN REST AREA HAD TO HAVE SOMEONE OPEN THE DOOR TO LET ME OUT. VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AND PARKED IN CAMPING AREA AND IN REST AREA. I DON'T KNOW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND COULD NOT GET OUT. THE DOOR LATCH WOULD NOT LET ME OUT. HAS A TRIMARK ENTRANCE DOOR LOCK WITH A ZINC NOT STEEL LATCH. THEY HAVE UPDATED LATCH AS THE ZINC ONE WEARS AND CAUSES THE LOCK IN, THE STEEL LATCH COSTS ANYWHERE FROM $95 TO $200 AND NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY OR RECALL AS THE WINNEBAGO MOTOR HOMES WERE RECALLED;
2015 THOR MOTOR COACH VEGAS Complaints
MOTORHOME WAS PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY. WHILE GETTING READY FOR A TRIP, GOT LOCKED IN. THE DOOR LATCH WOULD NOT OPEN. CLIMBED OUT WINDOW, COULD NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE WITH KEY. HAD TO CLIMB BACK IN AND TAKE DOOR LATCH APART PIECE BY PIECE TO OPEN DOOR. LOOKING AT INSIDE OF LATCH, THE PLASTIC MECHANISM THAT RETRACTS THE ALLOY PLUNGER BOLT AND THE PLUNGER BOLT ITSELF WERE BOTH BROKEN AND WEDGED, PREVENTING ME FROM MOVING THE PLUNGER BOLT MANUALLY. AT THE VERY LEAST, THIS PLUNGER BOLT SHOULD BE MADE OF STEEL. THE AREA THAT SNAPPED IN HALF WAS TOO THIN TO BE MADE OF ALLOY. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IN AN EMERGENCY. A DELAY IN EXITING DURING A FIRE COULD BE FATAL. AS IT WAS, CLIMBING OUT OF A WINDOW CAN RESULT IN INJURY. VEHICLE IS UNDRIVEABLE UNTIL LATCH IS REPLACED. IT CAN TAKE DAYS TO RECEIVE NEW PART. THANK GOODNESS WE WERE IN OUR DRIVEWAY.;
