Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Salem and Wildwood T174BH recreational vehicles manufactured September 18, 2013, to August 29, 2014. The affected vehicles may have an incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) on the certification and tire information labels. As such, the vehicles do not conform to Part 567, "Certification."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 205 units affected.

Description:: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Salem and Wildwood T174BH recreational vehicles manufactured September 18, 2013, to August 29, 2014. The affected vehicles may have an incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) on the certification and tire information labels. As such, the vehicles do not conform to Part 567, "Certification."
Consequeces:: If the trailer is loaded to the specifications listed on the label, tire failure may result, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Forest River will notify owners, and will provide corrected labels to the owners, free of charge. The recall began on November 11, 2014. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-800-353-7383. Forest River's number for this recall is 2014-PLT6.

2015 FOREST RIVER SALEM Complaints
JUNE 8, 2017, WE WERE TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON I-15 IN CENTRAL UTAH. WE WERE TRAVELING AT OR NEAR 60 MILES PER HOUR, WHEN THE VINYL ROOF SEPARATED FROM THE TOP FRONT OF OUR TRAILER. WE IMMEDIATELY STOPPED AT THE 1ST OFF RAMP WE COULD SAFELY GET TOO, AND SECURED IT WITH ROPES TO PREVENT ANY HAZARD TO THE PUBLIC. AT THE TIME OF THIS ROOF FAILURE WE HAD LESS THAN 900 MILES OF ACTUAL HIGHWAY USE. IF WE WOULD HAVE CONTINUED ON WITHOUT SEEING THE PROBLEM THE ROOF COULD HAVE BLOWN COMPLETELY OFF, POSSIBLY BLINDING OTHER MOTORISTS, RESULTING IN POSSIBLE DEATH OR INJURY TO THE PUBLIC. THE MANUFACTURER (FOREST RIVER TRAILERS) HAS COMPLETELY DENIED ANY AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE FAILURE. SINCE OUR INCIDENT, WE HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER FOREST RIVER TRAILERS THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. THIS FAULTY PRODUCT HAS THE POTENTIAL OF CAUSING INJURY OR DEATH TO THE TRAVELING PUBLIC. I BELIEVE THAT THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE VINYL ROOF BECOMING DELAMINATED IS DUE TO THE CHEAP PRESSBOARD SUB-ROOF. THE PRESSBOARD HAS A VERY UNEVEN SURFACE, ALLOWING ONLY PORTIONS OF THE STICKY VINYL FABRIC TO ADHERE. THE REASON I AM BRINGING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION IS TO HOPEFULLY PREVENT ANYONE ON THE PUBLIC HIGHWAYS FROM LOSS OF LIFE DO TO SUCH A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD.;
2015 FOREST RIVER WILDWOOD Complaints
THIS PAST AUGUST 2020 THE BACK LEFT WHEEL BEARING SNAPPED OFF TAKING THE TIRE WITH IT WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY AND THE MECHANIC SAID ALL THE BACKING ASSEMBLYS, HUBS AND BEARINGS AND 2 TIRES NEEDED TO REPLACED BECAUSE OF A BEARING ISSUE ASSOCIATED WITH THE CAMPER. THE TIRE LITERALLY SNAPPED RIGHT OFF THE CAMPER. THERE WERE CARS ALL AROUND US, IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, ON 290 E IN TONAWANDA, NY. WE WERE VERY LUCKY WE PULLED OVER RIGHT BEFORE THE WHEEL SNAPPED OFF. I KNOW THAT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR IS NOT UNUSUAL, BUT THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A BAD ACCIDENT. I DID FIND A RECALL ON THESE CAMPERS BECAUSE OF WHAT SEEMED TO BE THE SAME ISSUE THAT WE HAD, ON THE SPECIFIC MAKE MODEL AND YEAR OF THE CAMPER. I WAS HOPING YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO GIVE ME SOME INSIGHT ON NEXT STEPS TO TAKE AND POSSIBLE COMPENSATION. I HAVE INCLUDED A RECALL NOTICE I HAVE FOUND AND RECEIPT FOR THE PAST TOWING AND BEARING REPAIR;
