Thor Motor Coach is recalling certain model year 2016 Ace

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain model year 2016 Ace, Challenger, Hurricane, Miramar, Outlaw, and Windsport vehicles manufactured July 14, 2015, to October 16, 2015. Due to an incorrect shift cable bracket and an improper shift cable adjustment, the affected vehicles can be shifted out of 'PARK' without applying the brakes.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 209 units affected.

Description:: Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain model year 2016 Ace, Challenger, Hurricane, Miramar, Outlaw, and Windsport vehicles manufactured July 14, 2015, to October 16, 2015. Due to an incorrect shift cable bracket and an improper shift cable adjustment, the affected vehicles can be shifted out of 'PARK' without applying the brakes.
Consequeces:: If the vehicle can be shifted into reverse without the brakes being applied, the vehicle may unintentionally move, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Ford will notify owners on TMC's behalf, and Ford dealers will replace the transmission shift control bracket and adjust the transmission shift cable, free of charge. The recall began on November 12, 2015. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-500-1020. TMC's number for this recall is RC000110.

2016 THOR MOTOR HURRICANE Complaints
On December 13, 2021 the windshield wipers failed while we were driving at about 55 mph on a highway in heavy rain and wind. The passenger side wiper arm over-traveled and jammed behind the driver side wiper arm leaving us with no windshield wipers. We pulled onto the shoulder and unjammed the wipers several times but each time they jammed again within a few minutes. We drove without wipers to the nearest exit where we spent the night on the side of the road. The next morning after the rain stopped we drove to an independent RV repair shop where the technician: "Inspected all linkages, pivot points and mounting points. Found motor linkage bent. Straightened bracket and tightened passenger side spline mount." The next time we drove in the rain, on December 29, 2021, the same thing happened after using the wipers for less than an hour. We exited the highway and drove on a secondary road to our destination in the rain without wipers. We cannot drive the vehicle in the rain in this condition again. We will contact a Thor authorized service center to arrange an inspection and repair.;
2016 THOR MOTOR MIRAMAR Complaints
Windshield wipers keep getting stuck. Passenger side gets stuck down and Driver side get stuck up. We have to pull over on side the rode and fix them. It causes a visibility issue. It also causes a risk for accidents pulling over. I have contacted Thor this morning also. We are waiting on a response from them.;
2016 THOR MOTOR OUTLAW Complaints
EXIT DOOR LOCK BROKE, PREVENTING US FROM EXITING THE MOTORHOME. TRIMARK BRAND LOCK SET IS BOTH A DEAD BOLT AND SPRING LATCH. SPRING LATCH BROKE INTO TWO PIECES AND REMAINED IN THE LOCKED POSITION. TRIMARK HAS MADE A REPLACEMENT LOCK SET TO REPLACE THIS DEFECTIVE SET. SO TRIMARK IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. THOR ONLINE FORUM AND OTHER RV FORUMS REPORT THIS DEFECT AND OTHERS NECESSITATING VEHICLE EXIT VIA A WINDOW. IN AN EMERGENT NEED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, THIS DEFECT COULD PROVE DISASTROUS. WE WERE PARKED WHEN THIS HAPPENED TO US. THERE WAS NO PRIOR WARNING THAT THE LOCK SET WAS FAILING. *TT;
2016 THOR MOTOR COACH ACE Complaints
THE SLIDE MOTOR NEEDED REPLACING. IT WAS REPLACED ONCE UNDER WARRANTY AND THE SAME MOTOR REQUIRED REPLACEMENT AGAIN. SHORTLY OUT OF WARRANTY. OUT OF WARRANTY I WAS ABLE TO DETERMINE THAT WATER FROM THE ROOF WAS ABLE TO LEAK INTO THE MOTOR HOUSING AND WAS CAUSING THE MOTORS TO SHORT OUT. THE MOTORS REQUIRED REPLACING ARE LIPPERT HIGH TORQUE 500:1 MOTOR; IN-WALL SLIDE-OUT #287298;
2016 THOR MOTOR COACH CHALLENGER Complaints
Windshield wipers get stuck in the up position. Going highway speed in heavy rain. Lost visibility. Spoke with Larry Long with NHTSA. He advised that I make this report and that there are active recalls for this problem.;
