Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 GLE 300d 4MATIC

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 GLE 300d 4MATIC, GLE 350, GLE 350 4MATIC, and GLE 400 4MATIC vehicles manufactured October 14, 2015, to November 23, 2015. The low beam headlights on the affected vehicles may not be properly adjusted. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Assoc. Equipment."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 2,215 units affected.

Description:: Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 GLE 300d 4MATIC, GLE 350, GLE 350 4MATIC, and GLE 400 4MATIC vehicles manufactured October 14, 2015, to November 23, 2015. The low beam headlights on the affected vehicles may not be properly adjusted. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Assoc. Equipment."
Consequeces:: If the low-beam headlights are out of adjustment, the driver's visibility may be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and correct the headlight adjustment, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in November 2016. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

When the vehicle is in drive and you open the door it shifts to park. However, if the vehicle is in drive and you turn it off, the vehicle shifts to NEUTRAL. This causes the vehicle to roll with the engine off.;
2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE 400 Complaints
REAR HATCH OPENS ON ITS OWN INTERMITTENTLY WHILE PARKED AND LOCKED; DOORS REMAIN LOCKED. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN DRIVEWAY AS WELL AS IN SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOTS. WE HAVE HAD TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES, BUT THEY CAN NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN KEYS ARE INSIDE HOUSE ON A TABLE. 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE300D Complaints
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE300D. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED AFTER APPROXIMATELY 50 SECONDS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED TO TOW THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AT A DISCOUNTED RATE. THE CONTACT CALLED MERCEDES-BENZ OF FORT WASHINGTON AT 215-646-7700 (LOCATED AT 404 PENNSYLVANIA AVE, FORT WASHINGTON, PA 19034) WHO IN TURNED CALLED MERCEDES-BENZ OF ATLANTIC CITY AT 609-645-9000 (LOCATED AT 6623 E BLACK HORSE PIKE, EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ 08234) TO TOW THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,000.;
2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE350 Complaints
Car took off after going over railroad track, and accelerated without driver being able to control it. The breaks and steering went out as well. It’s like car was being driven remotely. Crashed into fence, and there was no warning. The car accelerated. The car bounces back and forth when brakes are on, and again last year stopped in the middle of traffic. Water damage was leaking in as well after 8 months having this car. First major incident was December 2024, but rocking and began one month after purchasing vehicle in August of 2024. Acceleration incident; December 2024: 4 months after purchase; vehicle stopping in traffic: April 2025 8 months after purchase. Apparently new tires were put on. Almost had a blow out within 1 year and 4 months of purchase and found out when getting oil changed this past December 2025. Lights and radio randomly shut off, and gas’s tank is often locked or will not close. This car is scary, and has had problems that someone has covered up for a very long time. I have papers claiming everything was checked upon delivery; However; two incidences alone could have ended in multiple fatalities. Someone is responsible for hiding something something here, and this needs to be reported before someone or multiple people die that is due to a defect in the car. MCC 478-877-5740 478-737-2010;
