Entegra Coach is recalling certain model year 2017 Aspire

Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain model year 2017 Aspire, Anthem, Cornerstone, and Insignia motorhomes manufactured April 15, 2016, to October 25, 2016 and built on Spartan Motors chassis. The throttle circuit wires on the affected vehicles may not have been be twisted to cancel out electromagnetic interference, and as a result, interference may cause the throttle signal to be higher or lower than intended.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 177 units affected.

Description:: Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain model year 2017 Aspire, Anthem, Cornerstone, and Insignia motorhomes manufactured April 15, 2016, to October 25, 2016 and built on Spartan Motors chassis. The throttle circuit wires on the affected vehicles may not have been be twisted to cancel out electromagnetic interference, and as a result, interference may cause the throttle signal to be higher or lower than intended.
Consequeces:: Unintended deceleration or acceleration can increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Entegra has notified owners, and Spartan service centers will install an overlay harness with twisted wires, free of charge. The recall began on November 29, 2016. Owners may contact Spartan customer service at 1-800-543-4277 or Entegra customer service at 1-800-945-4787.

NOTE: THIS DEFECT APPLIES TO ALL 2017 AND 2017 ENTEGRA ANTHEM MOTORHOMES. THIS VEHICLE IS MISSING ALL REQUIRED REFLECTORS. THERE ARE NO REAR REFLEX REFLECTORS, NO REAR SIDE REFLEX REFLECTORS, INTERMEDIATE SIDE REFLEX REFLECTORS, OR FRONT SIDE REFLEX REFLECTORS. ADDITIONALLY, THE INTERMEDIATE SIDE MARKER LIGHT IS NOT LOCATED AT OR NEAR THE MIDPOINT BETWEEN FRONT AND REAR SIDE MARKERS, BUT INSTEAD IS MOUNTED OVER THE REAR AXLE. ADDITIONALLY, THE C-SHAPED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT CAN EXCEED THE 1.067M MOUNTING HEIGHT WHEN AIRED UP FOR TRAVEL, AND THE DRL WAS NOT DEACTIVATED AS REQUIRED WITH THE HEADLAMP SWITCH IN ANY ON POSITION.;
2017 ENTEGRA ASPIRE Complaints
WITH APPROXIMATELY 14K MILES ON THE ODOMETER AND 10 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE NEW RV THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT TIRE (GOODYEAR 670-RV) BEGAN TO SPLIT AT THE SEAM IN MULTIPLE PLACES JUST ABOVE THE RIM. THERE WAS NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO HAVE CAUSED THIS CONDITION, THE TIRE SIMPLY BEGAN TO DE-LAMINATE. FORTUNATELY I RECOGNIZED THE CONDITION AND REPLACED THE TIRES PRIOR TO WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A CATASTROPHIC BLOWOUT. *TT *TR;
2017 ENTEGRA CORNERSTONE Complaints
Traveling at highway speeds, engine running at approximately 1,700 RPM without warning, a catastrophic engine failure occurred. Piston connection rod appears to have failed, causing both sides of engine block and oil pan to be destroyed, dumping oil and coolant onto roadway. Cummins ISX15 diesel engine. This dropped large pieces of engine block and debris all over the road causing a danger to other drivers. Because of the travel speed and complete loss of engine power (Red Stop Engine Light) with no warning, vehicle was difficult to control steering and safely getting to side of road. This vehicle was 7 years old, however only had 23,000+/- mile on it. The Stop Engine Light and warning buzzer came on and in less than 60 seconds, while trying to pull over safely on the shoulder of the interstate (again traveling at highway speeds), the catastrophic failure occurred. Vehicle was towed to local Cummins repair center for investigation and repairs.;
