Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. is recalling certain model year 2015 GL350 4Matic Blutec

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain model year 2015 GL350 4Matic Blutec, GL450 4Matic, GL550 4Matic, ML250 Blutec, ML350, ML350 4Matic, ML400 4Matic and 2015-2016 GL63 AMG 4Matic vehicles manufactured September 29, 2014 through March 27, 2015. The affected vehicles have axle bolts on the front and/or rear drive axle carriers that may not have been assembled correctly. As a result, the remaining bolts may fracture.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 48 units affected.

Description:: Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain model year 2015 GL350 4Matic Blutec, GL450 4Matic, GL550 4Matic, ML250 Blutec, ML350, ML350 4Matic, ML400 4Matic and 2015-2016 GL63 AMG 4Matic vehicles manufactured September 29, 2014 through March 27, 2015. The affected vehicles have axle bolts on the front and/or rear drive axle carriers that may not have been assembled correctly. As a result, the remaining bolts may fracture.
Consequeces:: If any of the remaining front or rear axle bolts fracture, the vehicle may be unstable, reducing the handling capability and increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the axle carrier bolts, free of charge. The recall is began February 2017. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

2015 MERCEDES-BENZ GL350 Complaints
On Mercedes GL350, the trunk/ hatch door will not open from outside. It just stopped working. Therefore, I tried to open it from inside, but there is no manual latch inside to open the trunk/ hatch door. It is a safety issue. The dealer, Mercedes Benz of Richmond, 8225 West Broad Street, charged $235 to open the hatch door. The dealership billed total $1322.48 (after 10% discount $1219.66) to replace the latch and its motor. Kindly help the GL350 owner to have latch installed inside open the door in case of emergency.;
2015 MERCEDES-BENZ GL450 Complaints
My 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 experienced an unexpected vehicle fire on Feb 13th 2026. The vehicle was just parked when I noticed smoke from the engine. The vehicle caught fire within a short period of time, and 911 was called. There was no known external cause for the fire. The incident appeared to originate from the engine compartment. This created a serious safety hazard and posed a risk of injury and property damage. The fire required immediate response from the fire department, and the vehicle was declared a total loss. The vehicle is currently in the possession of the insurance company. This incident raises concerns about a potential mechanical or electrical defect. A vehicle should not catch fire under normal operating or parked conditions. I am requesting that this incident be reviewed as a potential safety defect.;
2015 MERCEDES-BENZ GL550 Complaints
My 2015 GL550 has 90k miles on it and is city driven, on 09/11/2023 when I was trying to pull out onto a main rd my suv hesitated and the check engine light came on, luckily traffic wasn’t heavy at the time so I wasn’t in any accidents. I called and was able to get my suv into my local Mercedes dealership for an inspection. When the suv was dropped off the check engine light had gone off but when the service center pulled up the codes it showed both turbos were bad and have to be replaced. This isn’t something that should happen to a vehicle that is regularly serviced only at Mercedes service centers, isn’t 10years old yet, never wrecked, and has less then 100k miles on it. If this had happened with heavy traffic or any other situation it could have caused a serious wreck. My suv is currently at the dealership having both turbochargers replaced at a cost of $12,000 out of pocket. I feel that Mercedes needs to look into the turbochargers used in their vehicles.;

Rear subframe rusted from the inside out causing structural failure. This matches the defect in Campaign #2023020002 for other Mercedes models.";
2015 MERCEDES-BENZ ML350 Complaints
The failed/malfunctioning component appears to be the fuel pump controller / fuel pump control unit, and possibly the fuel pump system. The Mercedes-Benz dealer identified water/moisture-related damage and corrosion at the fuel pump controller area. The failed component should be available for inspection if the dealer preserves the part during repair. I have requested that the dealer not discard the damaged component. My safety and the safety of others were put at risk because the fuel pump controller is related to fuel delivery. If it fails, the vehicle may not start, may lose fuel supply, or may stall while driving. This creates a safety risk, especially if the vehicle stalls in traffic, at an intersection, on a highway, or during normal driving. The problem has been confirmed by a Mercedes-Benz dealership. The dealership diagnosed water/moisture damage to the fuel pump controller area and provided an estimate of $768.22 for fuel pump controller replacement, plus $244.88 for the inspection fee. The dealer also indicated that this was the first inspection and that the fuel pump itself may also need further inspection or may have related damage. The vehicle/component has been inspected by a Mercedes-Benz dealership. Mercedes-Benz USA / the manufacturer’s representative has also reviewed the case through its goodwill process, but they refused to treat it as recall-related coverage. To my knowledge, the vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. Prior to the current failure, the vehicle had starting/no-start related symptoms beginning around the middle of 2023. The engine could not start successfully at times. I do not recall receiving a clear warning lamp or message specifically identifying the fuel pump controller before the failure. However, the symptoms were consistent with a fuel delivery problem, and the dealer later confirmed water/moisture corrosion damage in the fuel pump controller area.;
