Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2014-2015 ACE, Hurricane, Challenger, Daybreak, Miramar, Outlaw, and Windsport motorhomes. These vehicles have windshield wiper systems that may have been improperly installed and secured, possibly causing the wipers to fail during use.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 8,617 units affected.

Description:: Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2014-2015 ACE, Hurricane, Challenger, Daybreak, Miramar, Outlaw, and Windsport motorhomes. These vehicles have windshield wiper systems that may have been improperly installed and secured, possibly causing the wipers to fail during use.
Consequeces:: Failure of the windshield wipers may impair the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: TMC has notified owners, and dealers will inspect and tighten the wiper arm securing nuts, free of charge. The recall began on May 5, 2017. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867.

THE ENTRANCE LOCK FALLED LEAVING OCCUPANT LOCKED OUT OF MOTORHOME. HAD TO PRY LOCK FROM DOOR. PERSONS COULD HAVE BEEN LOCKED INSIDE...VEHICLE WAS PARKED. IF VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT THEN THE OCCUPANTS WOULD HAVE BEEN LOCKED INSIDE WITHOUT AN ESCAPE ROUTE...;
2015 THOR MOTOR COACH MIRAMAR Complaints
FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN DRIVING IN A HEAVY RAIN STORM, THE PASSENGER SIDE WIPER ARM DISAPPEARED FROM THE WINDSHIELD AND EVENTUALLY BECAME ENTAGLED WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE RENDERING THE WIPERS FROM WORKING. WENT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD BE UNABLE TO LOOK AT IT. ANOTHER MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO INSPECT THE WIPERS AND REPOSITIONED THE WIPER ARMS TO THE SPLINES AND TESTED OK. HE TOLD ME THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE WITH THE SPLINES ON THE PIVOT SHAFT THAT IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO KEEP THE ARM IN PROPER ALIGNMENT EVEN THOUGH THE NUT HOLDING THE ARM WAS TIGHT. IT WAS FINE TILL SEPTEMBER WHEN THE WIPERS FAILED AGAIN IN THE SAME MANNER DURING A HEAVY RAINSTORM OUTSIDE ANNAPOLIS, MD. TOOK IT TO A DEALER IN DELAWARE WHICH, AFTER 5 DAYS THEY WERE ABLE TO REPAIR IT REPLACING ORDERED PARTS. I WAS NOT GIVE ANY INVOICE AS TO WHAT THE REPAIRS WERE.;
2015 THOR MOTOR COACH OUTLAW Complaints
The passenger wiper stopped syncing with the driver-side wiper and eventually broke and fell off. I was told by Thor customer service on September 7th, 2022 that my VIN number did not have any active recalls by the NHTSA, including recall RC000146 on my 2015 Thor Outlaw Class A motorhome. I believe it should be covered under the recall for repair.;
2016 THOR MOTOR HURRICANE Complaints
On December 13, 2021 the windshield wipers failed while we were driving at about 55 mph on a highway in heavy rain and wind. The passenger side wiper arm over-traveled and jammed behind the driver side wiper arm leaving us with no windshield wipers. We pulled onto the shoulder and unjammed the wipers several times but each time they jammed again within a few minutes. We drove without wipers to the nearest exit where we spent the night on the side of the road. The next morning after the rain stopped we drove to an independent RV repair shop where the technician: "Inspected all linkages, pivot points and mounting points. Found motor linkage bent. Straightened bracket and tightened passenger side spline mount." The next time we drove in the rain, on December 29, 2021, the same thing happened after using the wipers for less than an hour. We exited the highway and drove on a secondary road to our destination in the rain without wipers. We cannot drive the vehicle in the rain in this condition again. We will contact a Thor authorized service center to arrange an inspection and repair.;
2016 THOR MOTOR MIRAMAR Complaints
Windshield wipers keep getting stuck. Passenger side gets stuck down and Driver side get stuck up. We have to pull over on side the rode and fix them. It causes a visibility issue. It also causes a risk for accidents pulling over. I have contacted Thor this morning also. We are waiting on a response from them.;
