Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2017 F-150 and Mustang vehicles

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017 F-150 and Mustang vehicles. The air bag inflator within the passenger frontal air bag module may rupture in the event of a crash.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 650 units affected.

Description:: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017 F-150 and Mustang vehicles. The air bag inflator within the passenger frontal air bag module may rupture in the event of a crash.
Consequeces:: An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
Corrective action:: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag module, free of charge. The recall began October 11, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 17S26.

2017 FORD F-150 Complaints
The vehicle has a ten speed transmission. It started with the transmission making minor down shifts from 3 to 1 and then 7 to 1. Without any engine warning light. It has subsequently started a severe shift from 3 to 1 and 7 to 1 and the engine light has now come on. This creates a dangerous situation when it down shifts from 7-1 when your speed is 45 mph of above. I contacted a dealership regarding a repair but was told there is no recall and it would cost $215 to diagnose and from $4,500 - $8,000 for the repair. It is a known issue to the Ford dealers but without a recall they are gouging the consumers who is at risk of accident.;
2017 FORD MUSTANG Complaints
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while reversing, the third brake light failed to function as intended. In addition, the rear-view camera flashed on and off. The contact replaced the third brake light housing, but the failure reoccurred. The contact purchased and replaced the third brake light three times; however, the failure reoccurred. The dealer was made aware of the failure, and the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V082000 (Back Over Prevention). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.;
