Chrysler is recalling various Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling various Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V824-0103.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 61,791 units affected.

Consequeces:: If the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.
Corrective action:: Chrysler will notify owners instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began February 14, 2018. Get the parts to fix it.they fixed the airbags said we could pick the car up, called the company that sent the recall letter they said I could buy the part,or I could call other dodge dealerships, I have not had a car since I got the do not drive letter which was in March,I also had to use my AAA to get it towed to fernley which is about 80 miles;

2009 DODGE CHALLENGER Complaints
Fuel Pump complete failure. No warning lights, etc. Went out at a stoplight. Vehicle restart was random and would run for only a few seconds. Luckily wasn't in the middle of intersection, but was a busy road, I was in left turn lane and created safety issue. I had warning flashers on but still caused a concern of getting hit. I kept seat belt on and called and got tow truck. Took it to Dodge dealer, they confirmed vehicle would not run long enough to move. Fuel pump failure. Upon my own investigation, the issue appears common and is due to a bad fuel pump wiring harness that arcs and cause burn out and has potential heat/fire. The new pump that was installed came with a new wiring harness that changes the wiring to correct this. Less than 8,000 miles but since 17 years old, not covered by warranty. $1600 out of pocket for me for a potential safety issue they know about.;
2011 JEEP PATRIOT Complaints
I purchased my 2011 Jeep Patriot as a new vehicle on [XXX] in Fort Collins, Colorado. The vehicle has been appropriately maintained with the only one major repair (throttle body) to date. On [XXX], the ABS, traction control, and brake light on the dash board lit up upon cranking the vehicle and backing out of my driveway. I dropped the vehicle off the next morning for diagnostics at a local Meineke location. The vehicle eventually threw a C2220 code, which indicates the ABS module had an internal failure. Unfortunately for me, I’ve learned that Stellantis is no longer manufacturing the part. This has resulted in an increased cost to repair since new parts are hard to find and very expensive, third-party parts are also hard to find, and companies that could repair and refurbish the part were no longer doing so due to challenges in getting the right parts for refurbishment. (I called UpFix on 8/28/26 to confirm their inability to repair the part.) My particular case is not an isolated event. Apparently this is a known issue and one that has not triggered a recall or any legal action against Jeep and their parent companies for failure to address a known defect and manufacture/reengineer known failures in their vehicles. If I was to take my vehicle back without the repair, I would be endangering myself, my young child, and the public as a result since the ABS and several other safety features are disabled due to the internal failure. Unfortunately, the repair will be costly and by no means guarantees a long-term fix (was told maybe I’d get 1-2 years before the part fails again). I received two quotes - one is for a used parts and the other is the exact same but new. The cost difference is substantial and seems like straight price gouging as a result of Stellantis’ decision to NOT continue the manufacturing of parts to fix the problem on my vehicle and many other of their brands. 2012 DODGE RAM 1500 Complaints
While the vehicle was sitting in the driveway not running, the back of the headlight caught on fire. There wasn't any incedents (e.i. any collision, repairs) prior to the indecent. It is available for inspection. No dealership report yet, but have an appointment with local dealership Tuesday to get an itemized estimate for the repairs.;
