Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain 2017-2018 Toyota 4Runner and Tundra

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Toyota 4Runner and Tundra, 2018 Toyota Highlander, RAV4 and Lexus GX460 and 2017 Toyota Sienna and Tacoma vehicles. These vehicles may have incorrect load carrying capacity modification labels. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 649 units affected.

Description:: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Toyota 4Runner and Tundra, 2018 Toyota Highlander, RAV4 and Lexus GX460 and 2017 Toyota Sienna and Tacoma vehicles. These vehicles may have incorrect load carrying capacity modification labels. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Consequeces:: An incorrect load information label can result in the operator overloading the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Toyota will notify owners and provide them with corrected labels, free of charge. The recall began on January 23, 2018. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are H0Z for Toyota vehicles, and HLF for Lexus vehicles.

2017 TOYOTA SIENNA Complaints
The fuel filler door assembly on this 2017 Toyota Sienna failed structurally due to a defective hinge mechanism. This defect directly compromises a critical vehicle safety system. The Sienna is engineered with a physical safety interlock cable that links the fuel door to the driver-side sliding passenger door. This system is designed to prevent the heavy power-sliding door from operating while the fuel cap is off, protecting occupants from injury and preventing the door from violently striking a gas station fuel pump nozzle during refueling. Because the fuel door assembly failed, the safety interlock mechanism was compromised, presenting an immediate risk of fuel pump damage, fuel spillage, or passenger injury from the sliding door. Toyota corporate previously issued a Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) to address this specific structural defect. However, my local franchised Toyota dealership refused to preform comprehensive repair, claiming they "only cover the pin". This dealer non-compliance forced me to seek immediate out-of-pocket repairs at an adjoining facility to restore the vehicle's structural safety interlock system. Toyota Corporate is refusing to remediate this safety-related failure. I have made several attempts to resolve this directly with Toyota Corporate (6 or more), without success. This included several phone calls, and a letter written to the Toyota Brand Engagement Center, which went unanswered.;
2017 TOYOTA TACOMA Complaints
My 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road (manual transmission) makes a constant chirping sound when the engine is running and increases chirping sound when accelerator is pressed. The chirping sound ceases when the clutch is pressed in. It's clear through research that this is a "throw out bearing" issue. Toyota dealership confirmed the same issue and replaced the throw out bearing on 6/24/26 through 7/2/26 (as covered by extended warranty). On 7/3/26, the chirping sound remains, possibly worse/louder. On 8/28/26 through 8/31/26, a different Toyota dealer changed the throw out bearing again, but added changing the entire clutch system (being clutch disc assembly, clutch cover assembly, pressure plate, fly wheel and fly wheel sub assembly). Car was picked up and still makes chirping noise. Research of this issue notes: Quill Wear: The aluminum snout (quill) the bearing slides on can groove and wear down over time; and Toyota TSB: Dealerships previously addressed this under technical service bulletins with updated OEM replacement parts, though the noise can sometimes return if the core design interaction isn't changed. This is a design flaw, using an aluminum snout/quill versus a steel snout. This issue is all over the internet, although when I called Toyota Brands, they said they cannot help me. This should be a recall item for Toyota to fix.;
2018 LEXUS GX460 Complaints
I WENT TO NEW COUNTRY LEXUS DEALER I COMPLAINED THREE TIMES THEY PUT A LOT OF MILEAGE TEST DRIVING IT AND KEPT OVER 24 HOURS AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THEY STILL MAKE THE SAME NOISE IN THE SUSPENSION. I WOULD LIKE TO TELL PEOPLE NOT TO BUY LEXUS IS JUNK I'VE DRIVEN 2 CARS FROM THIS COMPANY AND IT SUCKS AND IS JUNK AND PLEASE DON'T GO THERE. 2018 TOYOTA 4RUNNER Complaints
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2018 Toyota 4Runner. The contact discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy per a Carfax report. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of the purchase, the vehicle mileage was 65,862. However, the Carfax report indicated that the mileage was 61,000 in April 2022; 90,000 in February 2023; and 54,000 towards the end of the month in February 2023. The contact stated that the current approximate mileage was 86,000.;
