Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. is recalling certain 2013-2017 Audi A5 Cabriolet

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2013-2017 Audi A5 Cabriolet, A5 Sedan and Audi Q5 vehicles, 2012-2015 Audi A6 vehicles and 2013-2016 Audi A4 Sedan and A4 allroad vehicles. These vehicles, equipped with 2.0l Turbo FSI engines, have an electric coolant pump that can either become blocked with debris from the cooling system causing it to overheat or can short-circuit from moisture within the pump.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 342,867 units affected.

Description:: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2013-2017 Audi A5 Cabriolet, A5 Sedan and Audi Q5 vehicles, 2012-2015 Audi A6 vehicles and 2013-2016 Audi A4 Sedan and A4 allroad vehicles. These vehicles, equipped with 2.0l Turbo FSI engines, have an electric coolant pump that can either become blocked with debris from the cooling system causing it to overheat or can short-circuit from moisture within the pump.
Consequeces:: A blocked pump or a short-circuited pump can increase the risk of a fire.
Corrective action:: Audi will notify owners, and dealers will replace the pumps, free of charge. The recall began September 14, 2018. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number's for this recall is 19N3/19N4. Note: This recall is in additional to the coolant pump software update applied as a remedy under recall 17V002.

2015 AUDI A6 Complaints
The contact's sister owns a 2015 Audi A6. The contact stated that while his sister was driving 35 MPH, the vehicle crashed into the rear of a Toyota 4Runner. The driver sustained injuries to the chest and neck and had back pain. Medical attention was not provided. The front bumper and frame, and hood were damaged. The air bags failed to deploy. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. There was no Police report filed. The drivers exchanged information. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 129,000.;
2016 AUDI A4 ALLROAD Complaints
Suspension subframe crossmember (Upper)(part number 8K0505235AQ) has severe rust Corrosion perforation, and is available for inspection. Fear of unsafe vehicle operation due to the Structural integrity being severely compromised rendering the vehicle unsafe to operate. The rusted subframe as been confirmed by an Audi dealer and an independent service center. The vehicle has been inspected by the Audi dealer and the independent service center. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the discovery of the subframe failure. The rusted subframe was first discovered on May 12, 2026 by the independent service center and later confirmed by the Audi dealer on May 15, 2026.;

ATTACHED NOTICE INDICATES THAT VEHICLE SHOULD BE PARKED OUTDOORS AS A PRECAUTION, TO AVOID A FIRE CAUSED BY A SHORT CIRCUIT WITHIN THE ELECTRIC COOLANT PUMP. RECALL REPAIRS ARE NOT ANTICIPATED UNTIL LATE 2018. I DO NOT WANT TO WAIT 4 MONTHS TO GET A REPAIR SINCE THIS IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I TALKED TO MY LOCAL SERVICE PERSON AT AUDI DANVERS, MA WHO CONFIRMED THE RECALL REPAIR IS NOT YET AVAILABLE. I ALSO EMAILED AUDI USA BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET THIS RECTIFIED?;

2017 AUDI Q5 Complaints
Coolant tank empty - leaking. Coolant leaking from the thermostat housing to engine. Had to replace the thermostat housing and reseal the valve cover Because the oil leak coming from the valve cover is causing oil to reach the thermostat sear and cause the rubber seal to expand and blow out causing the coolant to leak from the thermostat. This cost me $2,431.00.;
