Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Eagle, Eagle HT, NorthPoint, Pinnacle, Talon and Seismic fifth-wheel recreational trailers. The strap that secures the liquid propane (LP) gas bottle may separate from its buckle and no longer secure the propane tank.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 612 units affected.

Description:: Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Eagle, Eagle HT, NorthPoint, Pinnacle, Talon and Seismic fifth-wheel recreational trailers. The strap that secures the liquid propane (LP) gas bottle may separate from its buckle and no longer secure the propane tank.
Consequeces:: An unsecured propane tank could detach from the trailer and increase the risk of a crash or leak propane and increase the risk of a fire.
Corrective action:: Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will replace the propane tank securing strap with a new strap that has the correct crimping, free of charge. The recall began on July 27, 2018. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901385.

2018 JAYCO TRAVEL TRAILER EAGLE Complaints
I was troubleshooting a short in the electrical trailer brake circuit and found the cause: the wire had fallen into a crack in the frame crossmember which was chewing on it. Upon further examination, several frame stiffeners/crossmembers had cracked almost entirely through on both sides of the trailer. They cracked because during manufacturing, some goober decided it'd be a good idea to cut 95% of the web of the C-channel away to make holes 10x as large as they needed to be to run wires and slide motors. According to the original owner, he took it from IN to FL twice and I put about 3k miles on it according to my records so it only has maybe 10k miles. Looking at the amount of rust and condition of the paint compared to the rest of the underside of the camper, it looks to have been broken almost as long as the rest of the camper. This issue HAS resulted in the loss of trailer braking on a 13k lb GVWR camper. This issue does cause loss of stiffness in the frame that COULD result in excessive flex causing damage to the camper while going down the road up to catastrophic failure of the frame.;
2019 JAYCO FIFTH WHEEL EAGLE Complaints
The welding job and the weak, inferior metal used to stabilize the the axels is faulty. We had an eight foot piece of iron fall off on the highway at 60mpg and nearly caused a massive pile up accident on top of damage to our 5th wheel, also making it nearly impossible to drive until we could find a metal fabricator to fix the problem, a simple weld job was not possible due to a poor, dangerous design by the manufacture of the frame. We have had the frame fixed 3 times so far until we finally found an engineer who understood the stupid design flaws and fixed it the correct way, not only is this extremely dangerous to anyone on the road, the correct fix has cost over $5,000 plus lost time, wages, emotional scares and a loss of any confidence in the safety of anything on the road today.;
2019 JAYCO FIFTH WHEEL PINNACLE Complaints
The contact owns a 2019 Jayco Pinnacle. The contact stated that the frame where the pin box connects to the 5th wheel hitch was built in a way that caused damage to the side wall of the fiberglass. The side wall area began to fracture. The RV was taken to the dealer where it was confirmed that the frame nearby the pin box was built in a way that caused additional damages and was a known issue. The contact was informed that a TSB with NHTSA ID Number: 10208077 (Structure) had the same failure, however, the repair was not covered. The contact was also informed that the additional damage to the side wall was not covered. The RV had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was 12,000.;
