Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Freightliner Business Class M2 trucks. The steering shaft assembly may have been installed incorrectly, which can cause a loss of connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 9,093 units affected.

Description:
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Freightliner Business Class M2 trucks. The steering shaft assembly may have been installed incorrectly, which can cause a loss of connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels.
Consequeces:
A loss of connection between the steering wheel and front wheels can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:
DTNA has notified owners, and dealers will inspect the steering assembly installation, repairing it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began August 9, 2018. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-781.
