Newmar Corporation is recalling certain 2018-2019 Newmar Ventana LE

Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Newmar Ventana LE, Mountain Aire, Essex, Ventana, Dutch Star, New Aire, London Aire and King Aire motorhomes. The affected vehicles have entry doors that have latch rods that may be improperly adjusted, allowing the door to open during transit.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 239 units affected.

Description:: Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Newmar Ventana LE, Mountain Aire, Essex, Ventana, Dutch Star, New Aire, London Aire and King Aire motorhomes. The affected vehicles have entry doors that have latch rods that may be improperly adjusted, allowing the door to open during transit.
Consequeces:: If the door opens during transit, it can increase the risk of injury or a crash.
Corrective action:: Newmar will notify owners, and dealers will readjust the door latch rod, free of charge. The recall began September 5, 2018. Owners may contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300.

2019 NEWMAR DUTCH STAR Complaints
The digital dash is delaminating and makes it hard to see all of the safety items displayed on the dash. Everything is distorted, this is a SAFETY ISSUE. This is a know issue that occurs on many Freightliner products. ( The chassis is Freightliner ) Freightliner will not accept any responsibility beyond the normal warranty timeframe. Freightliner wants $ 7,000.00 ~ for the repair and then how long will this last?? I appears that this is a major issue for Freightliner chassis, and you have to do is google it and many posts come up discussing this problem. Apparently auto manufactures know how to make a digital dash that does not delaminate.;
2019 NEWMAR ESSEX Complaints
THE FACTORY INSTALLED TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM STARTS SHOWING FALSE READING ABOUT 10 TO 15 MINUTES AFTER THE MOTORHOME IS TURNED ON AND IN MOTION. AFTER TRAVELING FOR ABOUT TWO HOURS ON A HIGHWAY ALL EIGHT TIRES WILL SHOW FALSE READINGS.;
2019 NEWMAR KING AIRE Complaints
I own a 2019 Newmar King Aire and have lost two bay door skins in the past couple weeks during a trip from the West Coast to the East Coast. The first one was never recovered and I am horrified what might have happened if it would have hit someone. After we lost the first one, I inspected the rest of them, (14 in total) and they all felt secure. I then checked them again a couple hours prior to losing the second one. The Second one, I recovered after it flew up and damaged the side of my coach. These skins are only held on with 1/2" two-sided tape and I believe they will all fail eventually. And it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt or killed. I have additional photos if I can help in any way. I have asked Newmar what I can do to repair this situation, and they told me I was out of warranty, but they would review this issue and get back to me. 2019 NEWMAR LONDON AIRE Complaints
There was previously a recall on the power distribution modules on these Chassis the recall was insufficient, and these PMs continue to fail. This is a very much a safety hazard as the PDM controls lights as well as the electric fan clutch, which can cause the engine to overheat leaving you stranded on the road also it can cause lights to fail and the operator does not know they have failed. The issue tends to be intermittent in nature and very difficult to diagnose. I have contacted freightliner directly about this issue and they were of no help. This issue is all over the Internet and I’ve also know of several people that have filed complaints here with the national Highway transportation, safety administration. Please take action to remedy this dangerous situation.;
2019 NEWMAR MOUNTAIN AIRE Complaints
My motorhome is currently in a Freighliner shop to replace the 2nd defective DEF head in less than 19,000 miles since New. The defective DEF head causes a derate of power and total shut down and can leave you stranded on the highway or coming down a mountain pass with no power defeating the air compressor therefore no air brakes with a 45 foot, 58,000 GVW vehicle. In my case I was able to get off the highway before total shutdown only because I was aware of the built in shutdown design of the emissions system.;
