Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2019 Coachmen Work and Play and Adrenaline recreational trailers, 2018-2019 Forest River Forester and XLR recreational trailers and 2018 Forest River Rockwood recreational trailers. The awning may deploy while moving.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 2,582 units affected.

Description:: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2019 Coachmen Work and Play and Adrenaline recreational trailers, 2018-2019 Forest River Forester and XLR recreational trailers and 2018 Forest River Rockwood recreational trailers. The awning may deploy while moving.
Consequeces:: If the awning deploys while moving, there would be an increased risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will replace the awning controller, free of charge. The recall began September 13, 2018. 2018 FOREST RIVER ROCKWOOD Complaints
The contact owns a 2018 Forest River Rockwood. The contact stated that the RV appeared to be leaning toward the right side over the tire. While the RV was parked, the contact inspected the RV and crawled under the RV and noticed that the frame had several cracks. The contact found two cracks on the right side of the frame above the axle and one crack on the left side above the axle. The RV was taken to the dealer where it was confirmed that the frame had cracks above the axle. The dealer informed the contact that the RV could not be repaired and was a total loss. The contact notified the insurance company, who declined to file a report due to the damage being a factory defect. The RV remained at the dealer unrepaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.;
2019 FOREST RIVER FORESTER Complaints
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 FOREST RIVER FORESTER MOTOR HOME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR ARM ONLY ALLOWED APPROXIMATELY TWO AND HALF FEET OF VISIBILITY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHILE DRIVING. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SEE VEHICLES IN THE REAR. THE CONTACT CALLED CAMPING WORLD OF COLORADO SPRINGS AT 888-627-1295 (LOCATED AT 6830 BANDLEY DR, FOUNTAIN, CO 80817) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,200. *JS;
2019 FOREST RIVER XLR Complaints
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 FOREST RIVER XLR TOWED BY A 2020 DODGE RAM 2500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 15 MPH, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE ON THE CAMPER WAS TURNED INTO THE WHEEL WELL. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND UPON INSPECTION OF THE CAMPER HE DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE REAR AXLE HAD FRACTURED. THE CONTACT DECIDED TO LEAVE THE CAMPER AT THE SCENE OF THE FAILURE AND DROVE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE HE PURCHASED A NEW AXLE. THE CONTACT REPAIRED THE AXLE OF THE CAMPER HIMSELF. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER LISTED THE CARGO WEIGHT CAPACITY AS 2,245 LBS HOWEVER, HIS UNLOADED CAMPER DRY WEIGHT WHEN MEASURED CAME TO 7,641 LB. THE CONTACT LINKED THE WEIGHT DISCREPANCY TO THE CAUSE OF THE AXLE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO REACH THE MANUFACTURER BUT WAS UNABLE TO. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED.
