Thor Motor Coach is recalling certain 2018 Thor Chateau and Four Winds motorhomes and 2019-2020

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2018 Thor Chateau and Four Winds motorhomes and 2019-2020 Magnitude and Omni motorhomes. The backup camera displays may revert back to the factory default settings which may cause the camera image to be reversed.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 110 units affected.

Description:: Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2018 Thor Chateau and Four Winds motorhomes and 2019-2020 Magnitude and Omni motorhomes. The backup camera displays may revert back to the factory default settings which may cause the camera image to be reversed.
Consequeces:: If the monitor displays the image in reverse, the driver may unintentionally turn in the wrong direction, increasing the risk of crash.
Corrective action:: TMC will notify owners, and dealers will install a harness to install that will prevent the image from inverting, free of charge. The recall began April 30, 2019. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000168.

2018 THOR MOTOR COACH CHATEAU Complaints
The contact owned a 2018 Thor Chateau. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at 45 MPH, he saw another vehicle encroaching into his lane head-on from the opposite lane. As her husband began to veer the camper to the right side of the roadway, the other vehicle sideswiped the driver’s side of the camper and the inside of the camper immediately caught on fire. The fire quickly spread throughout the camper as her husband lost complete control of the vehicle. The contact's husband was forced to exit the vehicle through the passenger’s side window. Her husband’s jacket caught on fire and he was forced to roll in the snow to put out the flames. Her husband was taken to the hospital and treated for second-degree burns to his left hand and scalp. The jaws of life had to be used to extract the other driver from his vehicle and he was also taken to the hospital and treated for multiple fractures. The fire department and police department were called to the scene and the fire department extinguished the fire. A fire and police report were filed. The accident had remained under investigation and the exact cause of the fire had yet to be determined. The vehicle was towed to a junkyard where it was deemed a total loss. The dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The vehicle had been destroyed. The failure mileage was approximately 12,400.;
2018 THOR MOTOR COACH FOUR WINDS Complaints
The contact owns a 2018 Thor Motor Coach Four Winds Motorhome constructed on a 2017 Ford E-350 Chassis and hauling a 17-foot cargo trailer. The contact stated that while traveling to another state in the mountains, the RV suddenly began to buck and lost motive power and stalled on several occasions. The contact was able to pull over safely. There were no warning lights illuminated. The RV was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the fuel module needed to be replaced. The RV was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. A mobile RV mechanic determined that the fuel module needed to be replaced. The RV was repaired, but the failure persisted. The RV stalled, leaving the occupants stranded for several hours, but eventually restarted. The RV was taken to the local dealer, where it was determined that the OEM fuel module needed to be replaced but eventually used an aftermarket fuel module. The RV was towed to another local dealer, Harry Robinson Sallisaw Ford (2300 S Kerr Blvd, Sallisaw, OK 74955) where it was determined that the fuel module, fuel pump, and PCM needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted, and the RV was towed back to the same local dealer. The manufacturer was contacted, who confirmed there was no warranty coverage on the RV for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.;
2020 THOR MOTOR COACH MAGNITUDE Complaints
My front cap has been leaking for about a year, and I have had it "repaired" three times already under warranty. It is still leaking, and, in fact, it may be getting worse. This cap contains, among other things, a nearly queen-sized bed for sleeping. I have read on Thor forums that countless other owners are having similar problems, which stems from the front cap not being secured/installed correctly. This includes missing seals and/or missing screws. My fear is that this cap will continue to sag/loosen and eventually fall/break off while I am driving, or while someone is sleeping in this area. This potentially could result in fatalities / loss of human life.;
2020 THOR MOTOR COACH OMNI Complaints
On the Thor forum noticed others with an Omni/Magnatude complaining of the front cap overhead bunk are coming loose from the coach, inspected mine and had the same issue going on, screws pushing out through the molding and my front cap also bounced a lot and rattled and heard loud popping noises coming from it. Contacted Thor and their response was, I am out of my 1 year warranty by a few months and they were not going to cover it under the structural warranty. I took the molding off the outside of the coach that covers the screws that hold the front cap on, there are 10 on each side, on the left side found 7 broke off and the other 3 had backed out, on the right side found 6 broke off and the other 4 backed out. Found multiple holes where screws were put in and broke off from using screw guns. Removed the interior trim and bunk to find the screws that attach the cab to the cap, found small self tapping screws screwed into thin sheet metal, also found the aluminum frame for the bunk was only tack welded together in spots and the welds were coming apart. Where the cap attaches on the roof found all of the screws backing out through the sealant. Where the cap overlaps the side of the coach there was no sealant/adhesive. This is a dangerous situation that could cause the front cap to come off while driving that could cause a wreck. The cap is attached very poorly.;
