Gulf States Toyota is recalling certain 2019 C-HR, 4Runner

Gulf States Toyota (GST) is recalling certain 2019 C-HR, 4Runner, Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Prius, RAV4, Sequoia, Tacoma, Sienna, Tundra and Yaris vehicles. The text on the load capacity label may become illegible. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 3,634 units affected.

Description:: Gulf States Toyota (GST) is recalling certain 2019 C-HR, 4Runner, Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Prius, RAV4, Sequoia, Tacoma, Sienna, Tundra and Yaris vehicles. The text on the load capacity label may become illegible. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Consequeces:: If the driver cannot read the label, they may unknowingly overload the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: GST will notify owners, and dealers will provide corrected load carrying capacity modification labels, free of charge. The recall began May 24, 2019. Owners may contact GST customer service at 1-800-444-1074. GST's number for this recall is 19R1.

2019 TOYOTA 4RUNNER Complaints
I have experienced a persistent steering and suspension-related issue with my 2019 Toyota 4Runner since early ownership, beginning at approximately 6,800 miles. The vehicle repeatedly pulls/drifts to the right at highway speeds and requires constant steering correction. I have also experienced steering wheel vibration and instability, particularly at speeds above approximately 50–60 MPH. Over several years, the vehicle has undergone multiple alignments, tire rotations, balancing procedures, and dealership inspections; however, the condition has never been resolved. Toyota dealership records document abnormal tire wear including feathering and cupping. Recent service documentation states the alignment could only be adjusted “to best ability.” A prior independent inspection identified possible lower control arm bushing concerns. Despite this, the vehicle was reportedly operating “within factory specifications.” The condition has persisted through multiple sets of tires and repeated service visits. The ongoing steering pull, vibration, and instability create a safety concern during highway driving because the vehicle does not consistently track straight and requires repeated steering correction. The issue has been reproducible over multiple years and has not been permanently corrected despite repeated repair attempts and inspections. No warning lights were present at the time of the condition.;
2019 TOYOTA AVALON Complaints
While driving the vehicle and stopped at a red light or stop sign, the vehicle failed to accelerate when pressing the gas pedal. I pulled to the curb and turn off the car. After I start the car again, it will work fine. The vehicle has failed to accelerate several random times while driving and stopped at a light or stop sign causing a hazardous situation. The last time it occurred was on September 1, 2026. It has happened three times prior to this date also. No vehicle codes or warnings lamps were displayed on the dashboard at any time.;
2019 TOYOTA AVALON HYBRID Complaints
The contact owns a 2019 Toyota Avalon Hybrid. The contact stated that while refueling the vehicle, the fuel was spilling from the filler neck onto the ground. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The contact related the failure to TSB: 0220-17 Rev2 (Fuel System). The failure mileage was approximately 16,000.;
2019 TOYOTA C-HR Complaints
Hood latch and hood latch cable corroded on a 7 year old vehicle. hood latch coroded and could have let go at any time and caused harm to myself and others on the road. The problem was evaluated by Bristol Toyota. The latch and cable broke while it was in for service, luckily. There were no warning signs or symptoms of the problem prior to failure.;
2019 TOYOTA CAMRY Complaints
My 2019 Toyota Camry is experiencing repeated door lock actuator failures that I believe create a serious safety hazard. The affected component is the door lock actuator, which controls the electronic locking and unlocking of the door, and the failed components are available for inspection upon request. The problem began with intermittent failures where a door would not lock or unlock from the inside, outside, or remote key fob. The most serious incident involved my driver-side door. After the vehicle went into motion, the doors automatically locked, and I was unable to unlock or open the driver-side door from inside. When I reached my destination, I still could not open the driver’s door and had to crawl across the vehicle and exit through the passenger door. This creates a significant risk in a crash, fire, vehicle submersion, medical emergency, or other situation requiring immediate evacuation because an occupant could be trapped or unable to use the driver’s door as an emergency exit. The problem has now occurred on multiple doors, increasing the potential for fewer usable exits during an emergency. The issue has not been formally confirmed by a dealer because repair facilities wanted to charge hundreds of dollars per door to replace the actuator. I personally replaced the actuator on one affected door, and the door immediately returned to normal operation, confirming the actuator was the cause. Two additional doors have since developed the same symptoms. There were no warning lights or messages; the warning signs were intermittent failure to lock or unlock. The vehicle has not been inspected by Toyota, police, or insurance representatives. I am aware that similar door actuator failures have been reported by other Toyota owners and that a proposed federal class action has alleged premature door lock actuator failures involving Toyota Camry models, including 2012–2024.;
