Honda is recalling certain 2009-2014 Acura TSX

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2009-2014 Acura TSX, 2011-2013 TSX Sport Wagon, and 2010-2012 ZDX and 2008-2012 Honda Accord, 2010-2011 Accord Crosstour, 2006-2011 Civic, Civic Hybrid and Civic NGV, 2012-2014 Crosstour, 2007-2011 CR-V, 2009-2013 Fit, 2010-2013 Insight, and 2009-2015 Pilot vehicles. The front passenger air bag inflator may have been installed incorrectly during replacement.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 19,138 units affected.

Description:: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2009-2014 Acura TSX, 2011-2013 TSX Sport Wagon, and 2010-2012 ZDX and 2008-2012 Honda Accord, 2010-2011 Accord Crosstour, 2006-2011 Civic, Civic Hybrid and Civic NGV, 2012-2014 Crosstour, 2007-2011 CR-V, 2009-2013 Fit, 2010-2013 Insight, and 2009-2015 Pilot vehicles. The front passenger air bag inflator may have been installed incorrectly during replacement.
Consequeces:: An incorrectly installed air bag inflator may not properly deploy the passenger frontal air bag in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Corrective action:: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the inflator installation and, if necessary, replace the passenger frontal air bag module assembly, free of charge. The recall began July 5, 2019. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are M4O, P4R, T4Q, and W4P.

2011 HONDA ACCORD CROSSTOUR Complaints
The contact owns a 2011 Honda Accord Crosstour. The contact stated that the electrical seat adjuster on the driver’s seat failed to operate without warning. Due to the failure, the contact was unable to adjust the driver seat to the appropriate setting to ensure safe driving. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the teeth on plastic gear attached to the motor had worn off which rendered the button to adjust the seat useless. The contact also discovered TSB (19-034) which he linked to the failure. The contact spoke with a mechanic at a local dealer who offered no assistance and referred him to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and promised the contact a call back. The contact had yet to hear from the manufacturer. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.;
2011 HONDA CIVIC Complaints
The contact owns a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in a parking lot, the engine was powered off with the key in the ignition, and the front driver-side air bag and front driver-side air bag curtain had independently deployed. No warning lights illuminated, and there was no impact. In addition, the contact stated that her mother was sitting in the passenger seat, and the failure occurred while rolling up the front passenger-side window. The contact's mother sustained minor injuries to her left ear; however, did not seek medical attention. The local dealer was contacted; however, the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.;
2011 HONDA CIVIC GX Complaints
MY VEHICLE'S REAR PASSENGER CAMBER IS SIGNIFICANTLY OUT OF SPEC, AND HAS BEEN AS SUCH AT LEAST SINCE 5/2/2014 / 35522 MILES. AS A RESULT, I HAVE EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR ON TIRES IN THAT POSITION. MY CURRENT MILEAGE IS 81K. INDICATION FROM HONDA SERVICE IS THAT READ CAMBER IS NOT ADJUSTABLE ON MY VEHICLE. I AM NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF VEHICLE -- I PURCHASED IT 6/17/2016. I RECENTLY LEARNED THAT PREVIOUS OWNER HAD 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT PERFORMED ON 5/2/2014 BY A HONDA SERVICE CENTER, WHICH DID NOT BRING REAR PASSENGER CAMBER INTO SPEC. WHILE IT APPEARS THE VEHICLE WAS WITHIN 3YR/36K MILE WARRANTY, NO REPAIR WAS PERFORMED -- I DO NOT KNOW WHY. I CAN PROVIDE COPY OF THE REPAIR PAPERWORK. I CONTACTED HONDA AMERICA CUSTOMER CARE AND OPENED A CASE WITH THEM ON THIS ISSUE. I DID SO TO SEEK ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIR COSTS SINCE THE ISSUE WAS PRESENT DURING ORIGINAL WARRANTY PERIOD. THEIR RESPONDED THAT THEY WOULD NOT HELP (I.E., WOULD NOT ASSIST IN REPAIR COSTS) SINCE I PURCHASED VEHICLE AS-IS AND WASN'T OWNER DURING THE TIME THE ISSUE WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THEY ALSO SAID THERE WERE NO RELATED RECALL CAMPAIGNS. ON A RELATED NOTE, I PREVIOUSLY OWNED A 2007 CIVIC GX WHICH EXPERIENCED THE SAME EXACT SAME PROBLEM. IN THAT CASE, HONDA AMERICA CUSTOMER CARE ASSISTED WITH DIAGNOSIS AND COST OF REPAIR. AFTER THEIR TECHS DISCUSSED WITH SERVICE MECHANICS, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE'S REAR PASSENGER SPRING HAD FAILED.;
2011 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID Complaints
TAKATA RECALL - THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AFTER GOING OVER AN AREA OF ROAD CONSTRUCTION ON A CITY STREET. I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, WENT OVER THE BUMPY ROAD CONSTRUCTION AREA FOR 10 FEET AND THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE CAR DID NOT LURCH FORWARD, WE WEREN'T HIT BY ANOTHER CAR AND WE DIDN'T HIT A CAR, BUT THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED.;
2011 HONDA CR-V Complaints
There are known issues with Honda crv’s frames rusting in many states. There was a recall which we had inspection and straps added to strengthen frame. Now, frame has failed and even after filing a case with Honda care in April 2026, they continue to close the case, reopen it when we call back, call us with ring less voice mails so we are never able to talk to any case manager, and leave recorded voicemail for us to call back - and there is NO “Alexis” case manager. Dealership Dahl Honda in Rhinelander has been no help and upon initial inspection in April, would not say if safe to drive or not - only would say they forwarded pics and info to Honda Care.;
