Honda is recalling certain 2009-2014 Acura TSX

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2009-2014 Acura TSX, 2011-2014 TSX Sport Wagon, 2010-2013 ZDX, 2008-2012 Honda Accord, 2010-2011 Accord Crosstour, 2006-2011 Civic and Civic Hybrid, 2008-2010 Civic GX NGV, 2012-2015 Crosstour, 2007-2011 CR-V, 2009-2013 Fit, 2014 Fit EV, 2010-2014 Insight, and 2009-2015 Pilot vehicles. The vehicles are equipped with passenger frontal air bag inflators assembled as a recall remedy part or replacement service part, that may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.

The recall was influenced by the Office of Defects Investigation with about 9,555 units affected.

Description:: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2009-2014 Acura TSX, 2011-2014 TSX Sport Wagon, 2010-2013 ZDX, 2008-2012 Honda Accord, 2010-2011 Accord Crosstour, 2006-2011 Civic and Civic Hybrid, 2008-2010 Civic GX NGV, 2012-2015 Crosstour, 2007-2011 CR-V, 2009-2013 Fit, 2014 Fit EV, 2010-2014 Insight, and 2009-2015 Pilot vehicles. The vehicles are equipped with passenger frontal air bag inflators assembled as a recall remedy part or replacement service part, that may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
Consequeces:: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
Corrective action:: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began August 12, 2019. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are F5F and Q5E.

The contact owns a 2011 Honda Accord Crosstour. The contact stated that the electrical seat adjuster on the driver’s seat failed to operate without warning. Due to the failure, the contact was unable to adjust the driver seat to the appropriate setting to ensure safe driving. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the teeth on plastic gear attached to the motor had worn off which rendered the button to adjust the seat useless. The contact also discovered TSB (19-034) which he linked to the failure. The contact spoke with a mechanic at a local dealer who offered no assistance and referred him to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and promised the contact a call back. The contact had yet to hear from the manufacturer. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.;
2011 HONDA CIVIC Complaints
The contact owns a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in a parking lot, the engine was powered off with the key in the ignition, and the front driver-side air bag and front driver-side air bag curtain had independently deployed. No warning lights illuminated, and there was no impact. In addition, the contact stated that her mother was sitting in the passenger seat, and the failure occurred while rolling up the front passenger-side window. The contact's mother sustained minor injuries to her left ear; however, did not seek medical attention. The local dealer was contacted; however, the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.;
2011 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID Complaints
TAKATA RECALL - THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AFTER GOING OVER AN AREA OF ROAD CONSTRUCTION ON A CITY STREET. I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, WENT OVER THE BUMPY ROAD CONSTRUCTION AREA FOR 10 FEET AND THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE CAR DID NOT LURCH FORWARD, WE WEREN'T HIT BY ANOTHER CAR AND WE DIDN'T HIT A CAR, BUT THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED.;
2011 HONDA CR-V Complaints
There are known issues with Honda crv’s frames rusting in many states. There was a recall which we had inspection and straps added to strengthen frame. Now, frame has failed and even after filing a case with Honda care in April 2026, they continue to close the case, reopen it when we call back, call us with ring less voice mails so we are never able to talk to any case manager, and leave recorded voicemail for us to call back - and there is NO “Alexis” case manager. Dealership Dahl Honda in Rhinelander has been no help and upon initial inspection in April, would not say if safe to drive or not - only would say they forwarded pics and info to Honda Care.;
