Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2017 Panamera 4, Panamera Turbo, Panamera Turbo Executive, 2017-2018 Panamera, Panamera 4S Executive, Panamera 4S, 2018 Panamera Turbo S Hybrid, Panamera 4 Hybrid Sport Turismo, Panamera 4 Sport Turismo, Panamera Turbo S Hybrid Sport Turismo, Panamera 4 Hybrid, Panamera 4 Executive, 2019 Cayenne Hybrid, 2019-2020 Cayenne, Cayenne S, Cayenne Turbo, 2020 Cayenne Coupe, Cayenne Turbo Coupe, and Cayenne S Coupe vehicles. The instrument cluster may not provide a visual warning when the brake pads are worn out. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 135, "Light vehicle brake systems."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 44,128 units affected.

Consequeces:: If the driver is not alerted when brake pads are worn out, the vehicle may not respond as expected when braking, increasing the risk of crash.
Corrective action:: Porsche will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the instrument cluster, free of charge. The recall is began December 13, 2019. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is AKB8. Note: This recall supersedes recall 19V115 and includes vehicles that were previously remedied under that campaign.

2018 PORSCHE PANAMERA Complaints
The ride height sensor on the right front suspension is mounted to the upper control arm via a plastic bolt and bracket. This plastic mounting component failed under normal driving conditions. The failure caused the ride height sensor to malfunction, which directly affects the vehicle's air suspension system and its ability to maintain proper ride height and handling characteristics. When driving, I received multiple chassis height warning messages stating that the chassis was too high or too low or malfunctioning. The ride height sensor is a critical component of the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system. Its failure can result in: - Incorrect suspension height, affecting vehicle stability and handling - Suspension system faults that may trigger unexpected warning conditions while driving - Potential loss of driver control in the event of sudden sensor failure at highway speeds This failure is not isolated to my vehicle. A review of Porsche owner forums including Rennlist and 6SpeedOnline reveals similar plastic mount failures on the ride height sensor across multiple Porsche platforms, including the Cayenne, Macan, and Panamera. The fact that Porsche has since revised the replacement hardware from plastic to metal strongly implies the manufacturer is aware the original design was inadequate. However, no recall or Technical Service Bulletin has been issued to proactively notify owners or provide a remedy at no cost. When the plastic bolt and bracket failed on my vehicle, my dealership replaced it with the current Porsche-supplied metal replacement hardware because the plastic parts have been discontinued. However, the updated metal bolt and bracket are physically incompatible with the existing control arm, requiring the control arm to also be replaced. Owners who are unaware of this incompatibility may drive vehicles with an improperly secured or non-functional ride height sensor, increasing safety risk.;
2020 PORSCHE CAYENNE Complaints
Nearly 25% of the total time I have owned this Certified Pre-Owned vehicle (146 out of 564 days), it has been non-functional and in the shop — roughly 1 out of every 4 days of ownership. I am a [XXX} with a [XXX] child, and I purchased this vehicle as a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Porsche — expecting the manufacturer's rigorous inspection and warranty to ensure reliability and safety. Instead, the first breakdown occurred within just 1 month of purchase, and the vehicle has since failed six separate times over 18 months (Feb 2025–Aug 2026), totaling 60+ days out of service, despite extensive component replacement: [XXX] (˜1 month after CPO purchase) – Battery failure; car would not start; towed at 2–3 AM. [XXX] – No-start; fuel tank drained/refueled ("improper additive"). [XXX] – Low fuel pump replaced. [XXX] – High fuel pump, all 6 fuel injectors, DME system replaced. [XXX] – Recurring no-start; repurchase denied May 7, 2025; Porsche later claimed root cause found (mechanical part) and replaced it. Aug 1, 2026–ongoing – Check engine light returned; misfire on cylinder 4 and coolant leak into vacuum system found. Dealer replaced coolant pump/vacuum components, updated DME software — check engine light reappeared on the dealer's own test drive. Why This Is Especially Dangerous: A CPO vehicle should not fail this quickly or repeatedly. It raised serious concern that either the inspection was inadequate or a pre-existing defect was never disclosed. My child rides in this vehicle regularly. A sudden stall or power loss at highway speed, at an intersection, or during school pickup/drop-off could cause a serious collision, endangering my child's life and my own. As a [XXX] with no backup driver/vehicle, an unexpected breakdown have cost lost work time, unreimbursed Uber expenses, and childcare disruptions.
