Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Tuscany XTE (models 34ST, 36MQ, 40AX, 40BX, 40EX and 40GQ), 2013-2018 Tuscany (models 38SQ, 40DX, 40KQ, 40RX, 42GX, 42HQ, 42WX, 44MT 45AT and 45LT) and 2016-2020 Venetian (models A40, B42, F42, G36, J40, L40, M37, R40, S40, and T42) motorhomes. The rear reflectors within the taillight lens may be too high, reducing the vehicle's visibility. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 1,785 units affected.

Description:: Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Tuscany XTE (models 34ST, 36MQ, 40AX, 40BX, 40EX and 40GQ), 2013-2018 Tuscany (models 38SQ, 40DX, 40KQ, 40RX, 42GX, 42HQ, 42WX, 44MT 45AT and 45LT) and 2016-2020 Venetian (models A40, B42, F42, G36, J40, L40, M37, R40, S40, and T42) motorhomes. The rear reflectors within the taillight lens may be too high, reducing the vehicle's visibility. Consequeces:: The incorrectly positioned reflectors may make the motorhome less visible to others on the road, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: TMC will notify owners, and dealers will install adhesive reflectors, free of charge. The recall began January 2, 2020. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000180.

2017 THOR MOTOR COACH TUSCANY XTE Complaints
Overhead Cabinets above the driver and passenger seats above the front windshield have dropped down and bounces as we drive down the highway. Yes, it is available for inspection, I also have pictures. This started in 2019, the left side of the cabinets coming loose. We have tried unsuccessfully to fix the problem ourselves. After much research on the internet, I see where there was a RECALL 23v-121 & 2023-095 for Thor MC 2018-2021 Hurricane & Windsport. TMC recall # is RC000290. WE would like to be added to that recall and have our unit fixed properly before there is an accident. No one has inspected it yet, and no warning lights for failure.;
2018 THOR MOTOR COACH TUSCANY Complaints
On Sunday afternoon 20 June while traveling westbound on I-10 about 50 miles east of Ft. Stockton, TX, the passenger side rear slideout extended on its own. This slideout is about 2 feet deep so the width of my motor home suddenly changed from 8.5 feet wide to 10.5 feet wide. Fortunately there was little traffic on I-10 at this time. I was able to pull to the shoulder and used wood blocks in an effort to keep the slideout from extending. These blocks held until reaching Ft. Stockton where we were able to get off I-10 and into the first campground we came to. By this time the slideout had extended on its own again. I was able to get a truck mechanic to use cargo straps to strap this slideout in place so it would not extend and returned home to Alabama. My RV mechanic had found that both Lippert slideout cylinders had gone into bypass allowing the slideout to extend on its own. By this time the opposite slideout was giving me the same problem and one of its cylinders was found to have gone into bypass. This drivers side slideout gave me the same problem on I-25 southbound about 100 miles north of Denver last summer. A Lippert slideout cylinder was again found to have gone into the bypass mode. And fortunately for me again there was little traffic on this section of I-25. My RV has three slideouts and each slideout is controlled by two Lippert slideout cylinders. In the past two years I've now had three Lippert slideout cylinders fail by going into bypass and allowing two slideouts to extend while traveling on interstate highways. Fortunately, I was traveling in areas with little traffic, but the outcome could have been tragic if I was traveling I-10 through Houston or I-25 through Denver. I've included pictures of these three Lippert slideout cylinders with the part number data tags clearly shown. My recommendation is for an immediate investigation to get this suspect lot of Lippert slideout cylinders off the highway.;
2019 THOR MOTOR COACH VENETIAN Complaints
This will be the third frameless window that needs repaired. The adhesive comes loose from the window and they swing freely. While driving down the interstate the windows have come free from adhesive. Had to pull to side of road and tape down the window until we could get it repaired.;
