Chrysler is recalling certain 2020 Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Cherokee

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2020 Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Cherokee, 2019-2020 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Renegade and 2019 Dodge Challenger vehicles equipped with 8.4" or 12" radio displays. A software error can cause the rearview camera image to remain displayed after the vehicle has been shifted out of reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 319,610 units affected.

Consequeces:: The lingering rearview image can distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Chrysler has notified owners, and dealers will update the radio display software, free of charge. Optionally, owners can choose to remotely update their software via an Over-The-Air (OTA) update available as of May 1, 2020. The recall began April 27, 2020. 2019 DODGE CHALLENGER Complaints
the car shot up in RPM would not slow down spinning tires while holding the brake hard. had to go in neutral and kill the motor, when restarted it would continue to do the same thing;
2020 CHRYSLER PACIFICA Complaints
Our family was driving and our teen in the third row said his seatbelt came apart. We pulled over to inspect. He was in the third row driver side seat. The stitching for the seatbelt and the seat had disintegrated. There is a sticky residue but no stitching. The leather is in pieces and the seatbelt is unusable. This vehicle is used for family transport so there is no known cause as to why this would have happened. The middle seatbelt stitching is also disintegrating;
2020 DODGE DURANGO Complaints
My entire lighting system in back of truck stopped working. The racetrack lighting system. The license plate lights done. I cannot drive the car at night because I will get pulled over. Dodge saying it is not covered under the extended warranty I purchased.;
2020 JEEP CHEROKEE Complaints
I was driving down the interstate. Left Lincoln NE and made it about 20 miles east or [XXX]. A few miles before I broke down a light came on on my dash. I wasn’t sure what it was for. I was going 80 mph when my vehicle appeared to shift out of gear. I could push the gas but it didn’t cause me to accelerate. I got pulled over to the side of the road and tried shifting into park and then back into drive. It still appeared to be in neutral I guess. I called a tow truck who took me to a transmission shop in [XXX]. After plugging it in to a code reader I was told that the PTU Actuator had went out and would need replaced. I later received a Recall for the PTU on my vehicle in the mail. I tried submitting a reimbursement claim but was told since there is no remedy for the issue that they couldn’t process my reimbursement. The failed part isn’t available for inspection because the shop did the work and I’m assuming disposed of the part. I had no idea at that time that I would or should save the part. It cost me a tow truck, a repair bill, a hotel room, a rental car, and my vacation as well as was super scary for that to happen going down the interstate. 2020 JEEP GLADIATOR Complaints
Clutch overheated and cause an immense amount of smoke during drive with no warning indication from hud. Dealer stated that clutch has gotten well passed 390°c Heat from clutch has also caused front driver caliper to lock up and damage rotors.;
