Chrysler is recalling certain 2019 Jeep Wrangler and Ram 2500

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019 Jeep Wrangler and Ram 2500, 2019-2020 Ram 1500 and 2020 Jeep Gladiator vehicles. In the event of a crash, a front seat belt retractor may not properly slow the occupant's forward movement after locking.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 2,114 units affected.

Description:: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019 Jeep Wrangler and Ram 2500, 2019-2020 Ram 1500 and 2020 Jeep Gladiator vehicles. In the event of a crash, a front seat belt retractor may not properly slow the occupant's forward movement after locking.
Consequeces:: In the event of a crash, if the front seat belts fail to lock, there is an increased risk of injury.
Corrective action:: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front seat belt retractors, free of charge. The recall began November 12, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is W67.

2019 JEEP WRANGLER Complaints
2019 Jeep Wrangler JLU experienced intermittent CAN-C communication failure. Vehicle has repeatedly experienced simultaneous loss of multiple electronic systems. On September 7th 2026, while driving, vehicle unexpectedly lost electric power steering, windshield wipers activated without command, ABS/TPMS/ESC warning lights illuminated, and vehicle subsequently would not shift into gear after stopping at a traffic light. Hazard lights would not activate. After shutting vehicle off, vehicle would not enter ACC or restart normally. Opening driver’s door unexpectedly caused vehicle to enter ACC. Manipulating the CAN-bus wiring/STAR connector behind the glove box has historically temporarily restored normal operation. Vehicle has previously required repair to this wiring/connector, and the failure has recurred. This has been occurring for at least 3 years and since 60,000 miles. This presents a significant safety hazard because steering assistance, shifting/propulsion, and signaling were simultaneously affected while driving. It is a known Chrysler issue (FCA STAR Case S2108000146) and should be recalled as there is a CLEAR and present danger with this ongoing issue.;
2019 RAM 2500 Complaints
While attempting to pass traffic the truck did not want to shift above or down from 4th gear. This has happened twice now and both times I had to pull over and restart the truck. My safety was put at risk due to lack of propulsion, high rpm of the truck to maintain speed before pulling over. Check engine light came on both times. Although there appears to be a lack of NHTSA reports, I have been sharing this story with others and looking at Facebook groups and it seems the 68RFE transmission is rife with issues and commonly fails while driving, regardless of towing or not.;
2020 JEEP GLADIATOR Complaints
Clutch overheated and cause an immense amount of smoke during drive with no warning indication from hud. Dealer stated that clutch has gotten well passed 390°c Heat from clutch has also caused front driver caliper to lock up and damage rotors.;
2020 RAM 1500 Complaints
While driving on I 75 steam began coming through our vents while we were 50 miles from home. There was also a very strong smell of coolant, which gave everyone headaches and made them feel nauseous. After taking it to a shop. We found that it was the heater core that had began leaking. after doing some research, I found out that this is a common problem, even with vehicles of low mileage. I understand that mechanical failures happen however with a vehicle that only has 80,000 miles on it. This should not happen. I also believe this is a safety concern due to the fact that it causes the driver to become nauseous and possibly disoriented not to mention if enough coolant leaks, it can cause the vehicle to overheat or catch fire.;
