Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2021 Genesis G80 and GV80 vehicles equipped with 2.5-litre turbo engines. The fuel tube connecting the high pressure fuel pump to the fuel rail may not seal properly, which could allow fuel to leak.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 147 units affected.

Description:: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2021 Genesis G80 and GV80 vehicles equipped with 2.5-litre turbo engines. The fuel tube connecting the high pressure fuel pump to the fuel rail may not seal properly, which could allow fuel to leak.
Consequeces:: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
Corrective action:: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will replace the high pressure fuel tube, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 24, 2021. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 008G.

2021 GENESIS G80 Complaints
The windows do not roll down or up from any of the switches. this was taken in for a warranty repair and after i received the vehicle back. it worked for a day and has now began to do the same intermittent working and not working. where more often than not i am unable to roll the windows down. Along with the memory seat function not recognizing any presses. On vehicle pickup, the memory seat function was not working, the technician immediately hooked his tools up and reset something and got it working again. They said they had replaced a harness to get the door switches working properly. However the same issue has not started again. leading me to believe that was not the cause of the issue. Like before trying to roll the windows down from either the drivers master switch or any of the passenger door switches results in no operation conditions. randomly it will start working for a bit but than go back to inoperable. This problem has been occurring since i got the car and will be calling the dealer back again to express the dissatisfaction and failure to repair what they claimed to have fixed. It has already spent just under 2 months in the shop out of the 3 months that i have owned the vehicle.;
2021 GENESIS GV80 Complaints
This complaint concerns Manufacturer Recall 033G (NHTSA Recall 26V229000) for a fuel crossover pipe with retention fasteners that may loosen over time, creating a fuel leak and engine compartment fire risk. The vehicle has not yet received the recall remedy because the nearest authorized Genesis retailer capable of performing the repair is over 620 miles round trip. The recall filing states that Genesis will reimburse owners for out-of-pocket expenses incurred to obtain the remedy, in accordance with a reimbursement plan submitted to NHTSA on March 2, 2026. I contacted Genesis's National Consumer Affairs team and requested written pre-approval of round-trip transportation costs consistent with that filed reimbursement plan, so I could arrange transport without paying out of pocket on an uncertain after-the-fact review. Genesis responded that they are unable to provide advance approval or written authorization for any round-trip transportation, mileage, fuel, or other travel-related costs. They stated only that a one-way tow may be considered for reimbursement after the recall is completed, subject to review and approval, with no commitment on the return trip. As a result, completing this safety recall requires me to pay for transportation costs out of pocket with no guarantee of reimbursement, despite Genesis's own filed commitment to reimburse expenses incurred to obtain the remedy. This creates a practical barrier to completing a safety recall that is supposed to be free of charge, particularly for owners who do not live near an authorized retailer. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether Genesis's actual practice is consistent with the reimbursement plan it submitted for this recall.;
