Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC is recalling certain 2021 C-Class

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021 C-Class, E-Class, E-Class Coupe and Convertible, GLC, CLS, AMG GT 4-door Coupe and G-Class vehicles. Please refer to MBUSA's recall report for specific vehicle model details. A faulty electrical contact within the seat position switch may prevent the driver and passenger air bags and seat belt force limiters from properly activating during a crash.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 8,634 units affected.

Description:: Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021 C-Class, E-Class, E-Class Coupe and Convertible, GLC, CLS, AMG GT 4-door Coupe and G-Class vehicles. Please refer to MBUSA's recall report for specific vehicle model details. A faulty electrical contact within the seat position switch may prevent the driver and passenger air bags and seat belt force limiters from properly activating during a crash.
Consequeces:: Air bags and seat belts that do not perform properly in a crash can increase the risk of injury.
Corrective action:: MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the seat position switches, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed May 21, 2021. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2021040016.

2021 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG C43 Complaints
The contact owns a 2021 Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG equipped with Continental Tires, Tire Line: Sport Contact, Tire Size: 225/40/R19, DOT Number: LMJAD5UR (Front Tires) and Pirelli Tires, Tire Line: P Zero, Tire Size: 225/40/R19, DOT Number: 93X2Y082 (Rear Tires). The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the TPMS warning light illuminated. The contact inspected the vehicle and became aware of blisters on the sidewall of the tires. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer where the failure was confirmed. The tires were replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.;
2021 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG C63 S Complaints
Both driver and passenger seatbelts do not fully retract and remain loose. Must be manually guided back into mechanism. I see that there has been a recall for the cabriolet version of this vehicle platform but not for the coupe version. I am unsure why there hasn't also been a recall for the coupe C205 as it is the same platform and having the same exact issue. I have read on forums that there are also other drivers of the coupe platform that also have the same issue with the seatbelts not retracting so this appears to be a common issue with the vehicles safety devices.;

2021 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG CLS53 Complaints
The contact owns a 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG CLS53. The contact stated that she drove the vehicle for two seconds when the active brake assist inadvertently engaged without warning. The failure occurred on numerous occasions. Additionally, the contact stated that the screen interactive system failed to properly operate, and without warning the screen illuminated then failed on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that she manually disengaged the active brake assist to prevent future accidents. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 6,890;
2021 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG E53 Complaints
Was driving the car when it gave me a -48v malfunction. This was quickly followed by an overheat warning to turn the car off. It appears to be an issue with the -48v battery. Still waiting to hear what root cause is as MBUSA has had the car for 24 days and counting without many answers.;
