Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC is recalling certain 2021 C300 Cabriolet

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021 C300 Cabriolet, C43 AMG Cabriolet, C63 AMG Cabriolet, C63 AMG S Cabriolet, E450 Cabriolet, and E53 AMG Cabriolet vehicles. The rear headrests may be incorrectly mounted to the seatbacks.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 218 units affected.

Description:: Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021 C300 Cabriolet, C43 AMG Cabriolet, C63 AMG Cabriolet, C63 AMG S Cabriolet, E450 Cabriolet, and E53 AMG Cabriolet vehicles. The rear headrests may be incorrectly mounted to the seatbacks.
Consequeces:: Incorrectly mounted headrests could move or detach from the seat during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Corrective action:: Dealers will inspect the rear seatback guide bushings and replace them if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 16, 2021. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2021060010.

2021 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG C43 Complaints
The contact owns a 2021 Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG equipped with Continental Tires, Tire Line: Sport Contact, Tire Size: 225/40/R19, DOT Number: LMJAD5UR (Front Tires) and Pirelli Tires, Tire Line: P Zero, Tire Size: 225/40/R19, DOT Number: 93X2Y082 (Rear Tires). The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the TPMS warning light illuminated. The contact inspected the vehicle and became aware of blisters on the sidewall of the tires. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer where the failure was confirmed. The tires were replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.;
2021 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG C63 S Complaints
Both driver and passenger seatbelts do not fully retract and remain loose. Must be manually guided back into mechanism. I see that there has been a recall for the cabriolet version of this vehicle platform but not for the coupe version. I am unsure why there hasn't also been a recall for the coupe C205 as it is the same platform and having the same exact issue. I have read on forums that there are also other drivers of the coupe platform that also have the same issue with the seatbelts not retracting so this appears to be a common issue with the vehicles safety devices.;

2021 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG E53 Complaints
Was driving the car when it gave me a -48v malfunction. This was quickly followed by an overheat warning to turn the car off. It appears to be an issue with the -48v battery. Still waiting to hear what root cause is as MBUSA has had the car for 24 days and counting without many answers.;
2021 MERCEDES-BENZ C 300 Complaints
The contact owns a 2021 Mercedes-Benz C 300. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, there was a loud knocking sound coming from the engine compartment while accelerating. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the spawn rod was fractured, causing engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the engine was previously repaired because of the head gasket failure in 2024. The manufacturer was informed of the issue, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.;
